About the Role
We are looking for senior level Technical Designerswho enjoy weaving creative problem solving with technical accuracy to create amazing product. We have open opportunities on both our Men's and Women's Plus teams. You will be responsible for owning multiple product categories and ensuring fit and quality standards are well-executed and consistent across all styles. While managing your categories, you will work cross-functionally with the Product Development, Data Science and Engineering teams to interpret client feedback and execute opportunities for improvement to better serve the client through fit.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
• Take full ownership of multiple product categories, including setting priorities, leading fittings and managing deadlines
• Create and maintain Tech Packs, blocks and style patterns for categories owned
• Create and update fit comments while helping to advise on corrections sent to vendors
• Own sample tracking and fit comment accuracy
• Leverage client feedback to establish fit consistency, determine trouble areas and implement product action plans
• Maintain an awareness of the best and worst sellers in each season as they relate to fit
• Troubleshoot possible production issues related to construction, fabrication or garment quality with a solutions-oriented mindset
• Leverage PLM systems to improve team efficiencies
• Leverage Optitex pattern making system to manage pattern work
• Develop, implement and maintain category quality, construction standards and fit blocks
• Build close relationships with cross-functional team members and external vendors, leverage team member expertise and provide feedback when appropriate
• Support manager when needed with special project initiatives
We’re excited about you because…
• You have a B.A./B.S. from a 4-year university with a major in a relevant field (i.e. Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Textiles, etc) with 10+ years of technical design experience in the apparel industry
• You are fluent in MS Office, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong experience in Gerber, Optitex (or comparable software), and PLM systems preferred
• You are an expert in Tech Pack creation and garment development comments
• You have a strong knowledge of textiles, pattern making, grading construction standards with a solid grasp of industry, spec and pattern terminology
• You have experience working with factories and an understanding of production timelines, equipment and garment construction options
• You are comfortable communicating with a variety of cross-functional business partners and exhibit the utmost professionalism in every interaction
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• You are an excellent multi tasker, extremely detail oriented and possess exceptional organizational skills
• You are able and willing to travel domestically and Internationally to partner with and support our suppliers
• You thrive in a feedback driven environment
