Responsibilities
• As part of the ad sales senior management team, collaborate with the EVPs of Ad Sales and other executives, to develop and achieve annual sales budget and strategies for Telemundo and UNIVERSO.
• In partnership with network heads, network marketing teams, and ad sales teams oversee the sales strategy and product development for a suite of marketing products offered to clients designed to prioritize and maximize the financial goals and needs of the assets and the portfolio. This includes leading a dialogue with clients, partnering with ad sales marketing to identify sellable programming opportunities, leading the innovation process and providing creative direction to the network and agencies
• Develop a positioning strategy for the division, with specific focus on scaling marketing offerings for clients and their measured impact
• Develop a central repository for inbound and outbound marketing materials, ensuring that all materials meet the specifications of the network ad sales marketing teams
• Provide leadership, supervision and direction to integrated marketing staff
MONETIZATION: Ensure we have the best, most sellable revenue generating ideas that maximize assets across all platforms
• Client-Specific RFPs & Brainstorms: partner with sales and network partners to formulate and drive marketable sales strategies that are customized to fit specific client objectives; includes the “big idea” brainstorming and liaising with network and site-specific marketing teams to create compelling cross-property portfolio sales programs (reactive sales support).
• Development of New Sales Opportunities: identify high-interest 360 experiences, new on-air and site-specific content features and emerging ad platforms that will serve as compelling thought starters for client conversations (proactive sales support)
• Continuously raise the bar and bring more digital, social and marketplace insights to TV properties: Drive and Leverage innovation in everything we do and share best practices across divisions
• Ensure flawless execution to drive continued leadership position in marketplace and increased client renewal
STRATEGY: Work collaboratively to develop innovative, best in class ideas and deliver flawless execution
• Packaging: create, socialize and execute packaging strategies that leverage the Telemundo and NBC Universo brands; identify cross-platform opportunities for potential increase of overall client spend
• Provide clear communication of clients’ objectives, expectations, budgets and relevant details to better enable prioritization and improved workflow productivity
• Products: collaborate to identify, develop and properly package new emerging ad opportunities around key product offerings including Mobile and Social Media experiences
COMMUNICATION/FACILITATION: Be a valued and trusted internal and external voice of our channels
• Provide accurate, timely, strategic, actionable marketplace / client intelligence and account management to internal marketing and sales teams
• Develop a deep understanding and level of expertise on client opportunities and represent these assets both internally and externally in order to make the best recommendations for our clients
• Create and develop systems, tools and processes that allow for greater effectiveness and efficiency
• Liaise with all appropriate internal groups (digital sales, partnership marketing, on-air marketing/sales, editorial, research, etc.) to facilitate efficient and transparent communication
• Facilitate a culture of constant education, collaboration and communication
Qualifications/Requirements
• 15+ years of experience in advertising sales marketing
• 5+ years successfully managing broadcast or cable network cross platform and/or sales promotion teams
• Must have experience leading an integrated marketing team with over 25 employees
Desired Characteristics
• Ability to supervise, develop and motivate a team consisting of marketing, operational, and creative staff
• Experience working in Hispanic Media space
• Established network of agency and client relationships preferred
• Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
• Excellent executive-level presentation, leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to travel as needed
• BA/BS or equivalent experience; Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
