Responsibilities
Position Overview
The SVP, Development is responsible for building on Bravo’s success as a Top 10 cable network. Goals are to identify new potential original series and oversee new pilots, presentations, and development projects for Bravo, and work closely with the production team to smoothly transition developed shows and concepts. The role requires existing strong relationships in the entertainment community and the ability to foster new ones.
Key Responsibilities
• The SVP, Development will be a primary point of contact for original unscripted content for the Bravo brand
• This role will serve as a member of the Bravo senior team and contribute to the strategic direction of the brand and business as well as lead all original content development and production efforts
• Generate innovative and high-quality programming that at once exemplify and expand the Bravo brand
• Manage team of high-functioning development executives and team members to drive the Bravo development strategy for the network
• Serve as a primary Bravo brand advocate to the Creative community to ensure strategically focused development activity
• Serve as liaison between Bravo Development and other networks departments including marketing, PR, finance, etc. as well as other Company divisions.
• Brainstorm internal concepts for shows that will evolve the Bravo brand
• Identify concepts and talent that are a good fit for the Bravo Brand
• Identify appropriate showrunners and production companies with whom Bravo should be in business
• Supervise production of myriad development reels: casting, presentation through full pilots
• Provide notes on cuts of casting reels and pilot production
• Be an expert on the women’s, lifestyle, and pop culture entertainment space
• Develop and produce with an eye to flawless execution and brand consistency
• Generate new original content strategies including identifying new material, partners and opportunities
• Build and maintain relationships with the Creative community including producers, directors, production companies, agents and managers
• Work with Current Programming to execute original concepts.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 10 years working in television series development and production of non-scripted programming at either a TV Network or Studio.
• At least 5 years as an executive and leader in non-scripted programming
Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be willing to work in Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
