DESCRIPTION:
The Supervisor, Media supports the Media team in the development of off-network media strategy, targeting, and plan development. The Supervisor plays a major role in departmental operations, spanning everything from media buy review, authoring presentations, stewarding plan activation, billing management, and maintaining departmental workflow.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Media Activation
• Thoroughly review all Showtime media buys from the media agency of record (AOR), including: national and local television, audio, outdoor, and digital. Assure plans are consistent with media strategy, in line with budget, flighted properly, and executable based on production schedules.
• With the Media Manager, participate in all offline and online production meetings. Serve as media representative in weekly digital production calls during series media plan activation.
• Contribute to the development and authoring of presentations that articulate media strategies and tactics to secure sign-off to activate plans. Opportunity to present this work to senior management and executives in collaborating departments.
• Serve as point person with the media ad sales community; take meetings regularly and help identify the most compelling campaign opportunities for Showtime.
• Collaborate with peers in related departments to aid cross-pollination of marketing efforts.
Media Strategy
• Support the senior members of the team in the strategic development and stewardship of consumer media plans.
• Contribute to the development of target audiences and media briefs.
• Participate as a creative and vocal contributor in brainstorming sessions.
• Represent the Media team alongside peers in cross-functional meetings with Program Marketing, Digital Marketing, Publicity, On-Air, etc.
• Stay abreast of television and media landscape developments by monitoring trade publications and meeting with industry and product experts.
Financial Management
• Day-to-day media contact for agency of record (AOR) for billing topics, which entails:
• Complete all monthly billing responsibilities in a timely manner
• Assure timely delivery of signed invoices to the Finance department
• Accurately and efficiently code and track all media invoices
• Reconcile all discrepancies with the AOR
• Liaise with SHO departments and the Finance Manager for day-to-day financial issues
• Work with the AOR to track and manage annual commitments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 2+ years media planning experience; media agency background preferred
• Foundational understanding of marketing, advertising and promotional principles
• Exceptional communicator, including written, verbal, presentation and listening skills
• Team spirit, collaborative nature, strong work ethic, and computer proficiency
• Great attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and comfort managing important financial documents
• Passion for entertainment and Showtime programming
