THE ROLE:
The Studio provides a full photographic production service for various teams and departments within Company. From scheduling product for photo shoots to retouching a wide variety of luxury fashion imagery for e-commerce and commercial marketing.
PURPOSE:
Company requires a highly capable Photo Studio Production manager with experience in a high throughput environment to run all aspects of the day-to-day studio operations.
The Studio Production Manager will be responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of studio operations including but not limited to the scheduling and production for video, pre-media and photography as well as oversight of the management and optimisations of studio production equipment & facilities.
This role will provide operational support for the daily workflow within our studio to accomplish financial objectives while meeting service/quality requirements and creating a high performing, high brand-standard operation. Reporting into the Director of Post Production you will help support the goals of the organization to help maintain and expand the business and meet/exceed internal client expectations. Because of the highly deadline-driven nature of this, our photo studio is a constantly-operating, fully-booked business vs. a project-oriented or agency-driven business. Production managers/producers who are problem solvers and who thrive on being busy and doing phenomenal work with limited resources will do extremely well in this environment.
The right candidate for this role is both process-oriented, highly entrepreneurial, and is excited about rapidly developing and professionalizing the photo studio that manages several dozen shoots per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interview, recruit and manage growth of in-house Photo Studio Team across production, sample management and styling assistants to meet business needs. Manage specific roles and key skills to best control workflow requirements for e-commerce photography and business wide briefs
• Implementing and leading an effective and efficient workflow for Commercial Product Photography
• Present and make suggestions for improved/new ways of working across the studio, potentially tools/ systems/ processes needed
• Ensure daily and weekly KPI goals are met and exceeded
• Partner with Styling/Photography Manager to maintain and further develop brand standards via refinement of creative briefing process
• Responsible for the adherence of internal procedures, policies and documentation requirements. Ensure the photo production staff is trained to our quality policies and procedures
• Work closely with the Head of Department, CMD teams, and department stakeholders to ensure adequate, efficient, and effective project staffing/ deadline management
• Managing end to end projects, from point of concept through to post implementation review, demonstrating an ability to produce high quality deliverables within tight and immovable deadlines
• Managing model resource and agency expectations, scheduling regular model castings, book models based on creative direction for 3 product categories. Negotiate rates and set up contracts with various agencies
• Supervise all aspects of photo shoot production across all sets (workflow timings, adding to workflow, adjusting workflow)
• Work closely with Creative, Sample and digital commerce coordinators on shoot schedules to accommodate for various business needs
• Secure freelancers, production companies to accommodate necessary shoots
• Set up procedures for the department, training and supervising staff
• Ensure all Digital Commerce projects adhere to productions budgets for web as set by Senior Management
• Maintaining digital workflow through server management and distribution using forthcoming new digital asset management system
• Ensure smooth movement of samples through the Studio Production teams, with respect to deadlines, quality and accuracy
• Work with the Stylist and Photography Managers to plan and produce daily studio schedules to meet upload capacity each week, including special projects
• Produce weekly productivity and budget reports, raising and good receipting PO for all vendors/suppliers
• Work with the samples team to ensure products are received in time for deadlines
• Continually suggest and help implement improvements to workflow
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in Photography, Graphic design or Fashion related desirable
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Experience working for a high profile fashion brand- E-commerce experience/working in a fast paced environment, for a luxury brand as a producer, traffic manager, project manager
• Experience managing a team within a studio environment.
• Experience sourcing and managing vendors/suppliers
• Advanced Excel
• Advanced content and digital asset management experience
• Experience managing stock inventory and vendor/supplier orders
