Studio Manager, WSJ
Job Description:
The Company is looking for a Studio Manager to join the WSJ Design team. The candidate will work within the team to coordinate a range of activities in order to help free them up so that they can focus on their day-to-day tasks and projects. This is a role for a self-starter and someone that is passionate about being organised and has a deep love for all things design and news.
Responsibilities and what you’ll do
• Manage and maintain team presentations, other relevant team templates and assets
• Coordinate and publish our monthly WSJ Design newsletter
• Setup, manage and publish to the WSJ Design social accounts
• Author the agenda and chair the WSJ Design team meetings
• Responsible for font licensing and distribution
• Responsible for team software licensing, budgeting and distribution
• Coordinate conferences/education/training for team members, manage dates, who goes, budgets, travel and related expenses
• Coordinate team building exercises and offsites
• Coordinate and author agenda for “WSJ Design Team Show and Tell” bi-weekly meetings. Arrange for inspiring external speakers to come in
• Coordinate and occasionally facilitate workshops, design sprints and sessions across the business and with external partners
• Manage Head of Design’s (Che Douglas) expenses, travel and schedule
• Manage onboarding for new staff
• Help prepare presentations/decks for team projects
• Manage team devices, equipment and keep up-to-speed with new product launches and technologies
• Manage and encourage collaboration with other departments including, Graphics, Product, Technology, Innovation, Marketing and Advertising.
• Prepare and send weekly team status updates to key stakeholders
Requirements
• Strong communication, writing and collaboration skills
• Experience with Google’s G-suite (Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets and Slides) and Keynote
• Familiar with Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite a bonus
• Familiar with project management tools
• 3+ years experience working in an agency or design related company
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly-dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
• Familiar with digital product design and user experience design
