Position: Store Design Engineer
Location: New Albany, Ohio
Travel:10% domestic and international

The Design Engineer’s primary responsibility is to manage the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and controls design for new store and remodel projects. This will involve working with external architectural and engineering firms during creation of construction documents to verify that the established A&F MEP standards have been implemented. Additionally, the Design Engineer will work with HVAC and controls vendors to source equipment and coordinate closely with Store Design, Construction, Maintenance, Purchasing, and Real Estate during the store design process.
What will you be doing?
§ Review leases from MEP standpoint to determine if Landlord’s are providing sufficient utilities
§ Manage 3rd party A/E firms and Commissioning Vendors
§ Coordinate with HVAC vendors to source equipment that will meet store design intent
§ Review mechanical and HVAC equipment submittals
§ Coordinate with controls vendors to design and source equipment for the HVAC and lighting controls for new store and remodel projects.
§ Review control shop drawings.
§ Audit construction documents for accuracy
§ Provide technical support during commissioning and review Air/Water Balances
§ Partner closely with Store Designer to coordinate MEP items
§ Assist the Construction Manager with RFI”s as required
§ Work cross functionally with multiple project stakeholders
§ Help establish and review MEP Design Standards
What will you need to bring?
§ Bachelors of Science in Electrical or Mechanical engineering from a ABET University
§ Minimum 1+ years of engineering design experience
§ Must have strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems
§ EIT preferred
§ PE preferred
§ Experience with Energy Modeling
§ Basic knowledge of HVAC and Controls
§ Strong AutoCAD skills required
§ Ability to read construction drawings
§ Strong project management skills
§ Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
§ Excellent communication and presentation skills
§ Collaborative, team player attributes
§ Desire to learn about and work across multiple engineering disciplines
§ Eye for detail
§ Experience in a retail environment preferred
Additional Information
§ 10% domestic and international travel will be required for this position
