Conduct clinical psychology with patients using psychosocial techniques to facilitate more flexible and successful adaptation to the demands of psychological development and of the environment (i.e. family, school, community and employment). Clinical psychology knowledge and practice incorporates a variety of models including psychodynamic, biological, supportive, cognitive behavioral, exploratory-interpretive or educational. Clinical psychology practice applies specific knowledge, theories and methods to assessment and diagnosis, treatment (individual, couple, family and group) and aftercare planning.
This person has the responsibility to provide clinical services for assigned patients, as well as to participate in the activities of the program. He/She is encouraged to participate in other hospital activities including committees, teaching, and research. He/she should have demonstrated clinical experience relevant to the patient needs of the program.
- Provides clinical services including individual psychotherapy 3 times per week, family therapy where assigned as family therapist 1-2 times per week and co-leads groups.
- Maintains contact with family members as appropriate
- Documents in the record by the completion of treatment plans, patient encounter forms, appropriate progress notes, clinical summaries and other documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Serves as liaison to other health care professionals including mental health practitioners and others
- Provides interface with payers and managed care organizations through the completion of timely and effective reviews and necessary authorizations for initial authorization for individual therapy cases and as needed during vacation and any other absence by Part time Utilization Reviewer.
- Participates in program and hospital administrative activities (e.g. staff meetings, CQI, hospital committees, etc.)
- Maintains awareness of medicolegal/risk management issues.
- Participates in the hospital teaching and research efforts, including supervision of trainees and CRC’s as assigned.

Qualifications
Ph.D., Psy.D., or EdD degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited university or school of psychology. Candidates must have completed an APA -accredited internship. Post-doctoral experience in a related field strongly preferred.
Licensure or license eligible appropriate to clinical discipline in MA.
Clinical psychology expertise and practice is required. Expertise in CBT integrating exposure work (theory and practice) is required.
Experience providing CBT Treatment to adolescents and families is strongly preferred. In addition, familiarity with complementary evidence based treatments (i.e., ACT, SPACE, behavioral parent training models, and/or DBT) is preferred.
