Staff Accountant
Job Details
Company has an opening for a Staff Accountant. This position assists with a variety of projects to support management initiatives in a centralized accounting environment providing corporate/division and regional/individual unit support. The position is located at the Company business office in Charlotte, NC.
Job Responsibilities:
- Research, code, and submit daily Accounts Payable invoices
- Collect and submit new supplier paperwork to our central procurement team
- Investigate invoice or general ledger discrepancies and propose solutions
- Maintain proper controls to ensure completeness & accuracy of outgoing payments
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, adjusting and recurring as needed
- Research and prepare monthly account reconciliations and analysis
- Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial transactions
- Generate and distribute key reporting and other analyses to key stakeholders
- Communicate with key personnel on status of open projects and other requests
- Create and maintain documentation of department processes and procedures
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Prepare ad hoc reports and perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualification Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail, ability to work efficiently with large volumes of transactions
- Ability to recognize problems and develop or suggest solutions
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated, quick learner and a self-starter
- Ability to work with accuracy and meet deadlines
- Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced environment
- Ability to operate with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish directives
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of peers, management and external parties
Experience
- 1-2 years of accounting/finance experience preferred
- Experience with Oracle ERP preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
