Company is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.
Job Summary:
Under general direction and supervision, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for a variety of daily and monthly financial accounting duties including invoicing and cash receipts, account reconciliations and preparation and posting of various journal entries at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The position requires solid knowledge of basic accounting principles and day to day accounting experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Book and reconcile Daily Box Office and weekly Ticketmaster activity
• Assist in preparation, depositing and posting of cash receipts to the GL
• Responsible for all invoice preparation related to suite & sponsor activity as well as miscellaneous other billings
• Reconcile and analyze GL accounts including bank accounts, accounts receivable, accrued liabilities, and other accounts as required
• Prepare, upload and post various journal entries
• Assist in processing of check runs as required
• Provide support and assistance as needed for both internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures as well as 404 compliance
• Developing and implementing improved accounting policies and procedures
• Perform other accounting and general office duties as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office Software, particularly in Excel (including pivot tables and vlookup functions)
• Proficient knowledge of accounting software systems, JD Edwards Enterprise One experience a plus
• Ability to communicate to management as it relates to finance and operation activities
• Attention to detail while working under pressure to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with minimal supervision
• Ability to work extended hours as needed to accommodate monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 2 years of financial accounting experience
