Sr. Manager Sports Marketing - Basketball Grassroots

Purpose
To lead and develop professional sports marketing for assigned category/region and ensure athletic insights and on-court presence in order to create adidas brand visibility.
Key Accountabilities
• Lead short and long term strategic planning of adidas Global Grassroots Basketball
• platforms, including Elite & Key Cities programming.
• Manage, coach and develop team of direct reports to facilitate premium execution of adidas-owned event and grassroots initiatives.
• Ensure that category and horizontal athletes integrate into the overall brand and marketing and activation plans.
• Work as key interface of grassroots/key cities for internal groups including product, team
• sales and brand marketing
• Act as adidas representative to the public at competitions, consumer events and activations, ensuring proper footwear and apparel usage.
• Facilitate retail and partner integration within managed Basketball assets, liaise with horizontal City Manager stakeholders to drive maximum value to the Brand.
• Participate and implement integrated marketing by leading the execution of events, advertising, player marketing programs and athlete appearances that create an adidas buzz that lasts the entire year.
• Develop localized Brand and athlete marketing opportunities and create a stronger presence in assigned region by executing a Ground Up attack.
• Lead the development of platform and additional activations / confirm followthrough
• is met.
• Collaborate with Apparel & Footwear Marketing and Athlete Services to develop custom or SMU gear and shoes for events.
• Work with each discipline Senior Director on holistic planning to ensure alignment
• Responsible for communication plans to inform all stakeholders
• Manage grassroots and pre-determined NCAA external partnerships.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
1. Ability to build and maintain key industry and high profile relationships
2. Ability to network, influence and utilize internal and external resources
3. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
4. Extensive knowledge of assigned category and the sporting goods industry in general
5. Excellent presentation and communication skills
6. SAP skills/knowledge preferred
Qualifications
1. Four year degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
2. Five (5) years sports marketing or related experience, category specific preferred.
3. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
