JOB SUMMARY
The Mgr, Software Development position is responsible for the architecture, development, and implementation of billing system applications and reporting to support enhanced customer experience, improve and streamline operational processes, meet government and local regulatory obligations such as PCI and audit complance for data security, as well as overseeing compliance for change management procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Formulate, define and deploy both short and long-term strategic plans for development and implementation of new/enhanced applications into the Charter enterprise billing systems.
Respond and act quickly on upper-management direction
Work with stakeholders to define business requirements as well as fit/gap analysis
Direct research on potential solutions for operational issues
Keeps current with the latest technologies
Approves and oversees projects
Manages IT Staffing including supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and disciplinary actions
Challenge others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor
Manage timelines and priorites based on key factors such as short/long term return on investment, increased operational effectiveness, government/public regulatory actions, customer trending analysis, and new-to-market product launches

Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Prior ICOMS experience
Strong iSeries experience
Versed in all levels of RPG programming and Sequel aspects
Prior Cable experience including general operational knowledge
