Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
As a member of the Marketing Department, you will support the Sr. Director Marketing with multi-brand & multi-channel (Wholesale, Own Retail & Franchise) Retail Space & Visual Merchandising planning responsibilities. You will maximize NPS, sales, profits, and brand equity within the stores and other branded space by developing an effective visual merchandising & retail space management strategy, process, and plan (along global RSM & VM guidelines). You will ensure world-class representation of the Brands through cross-functional collaboration with Omni-channel Marketing, BU heads, RSM&VM execution (formerly Store Development), Retail/Franchise Operations and WHS account managers (if applicable).
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, manage and deploy the EM-South RSM & VM planning strategy by adapting the global RSM & VM toolbox and guidelines to local needs
• Oversee the planning of all fixture layouts and visual merchandising of all branded retail spaces (own retail stores, franchise stores, other own branded space, whole sale shop-in-shops, other whole sale branded space) to ensure all target KPIs can be met/exceeded (NPS, MOMENTUM, SPI, NS/m², FPST, MYSTERY SHOPING-SCORE, etc.)
• Collaborate closely with BU’s range manager to ensure category assortment is considering a best in class consumer-centric collection which allows the planning of monthly exciting and inspiring Visual Merchandising story
(brand concepts, hero products, freshness, product story intro & exit flow)
• Collaborate closely with WHS, Own Retail and Franchise manager to ensure that category assortment and VM stories complements the branded retail space and layouts perfectly
(options, quantities, highlights, graphics, POS-elements, etc.)
• Collaborate closely with Retail Merchandising and Retail Operations (Franchise & Own Retail) to ensure the store layouts reflect the product buys and inventory levels as well as the specific geography and trading proportionality of each store
• Manage the RSM & visual merchandising planning organization, performance and cost base
• Contribute to the development of the EM-South Retail strategy cross Channels
• Ensure flawless planning service delivery to each territory (e.g. Nigeria, Ghana, etc. & channel), with a clear focus on the EM-South key cities’ key retail locations
• Collaborate closely with RSM execution (former Store Development team) and Key-Account managers for new openings/remodeling and branded space roll-out plan and budget
• Ensure smooth cooperation of all direct reports along all interfaces
• Create and provide a training toolbox to ensure all RSM & VM field personnel
(internal & external) are up to date at any time
• Set personal objectives, targets, guidelines, and assess all reports
• Build, develop, and lead a strong team of RSM & VM planning professionals in function, as well as functional reports in regions (Company websitea, Ghana, etc.), toward the achievement of common goals (see KPIs)
• Develop the functional and social skills of direct reports with special focus on talents

• Extensive VM & RSM planning software and computer skills

• English fluency required
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications
• University degree in Business or Marketing
• Minimum of 10 years progressive work experience in Retail, specifically Visual Merchandising and Space Planning
• 5-8 years leadership experience in Retail a environment
