Summary:
We are building a footwear team with the goal of being a player in many major performance categories. Company is looking for a Sr. Color Designer, Footwear to focus on Women’s and Run Footwear for Company. We are looking at design to lead the brand vision in footwear going forward. We need a self-motivated Sr. Designer that wants to be part of a fast evolving brand with significant career growth potential and that will work collaboratively with the all of the Footwear categories and Apparel & Accessories teammates to create innovative and industry leading footwear product.
What will you do?
• Drive UA color continuously generating industry leading strategic processes and applications of color and materials for Women’s and Run Footwear.
• Support the Corporate and Footwear Creative Direction by building early directional concepts that offer insight into relevant Color, Trend, & Print. Create a library of resources each season by researching online, at retail, and at shows.
• Establish & drive the Women’s and Run Footwear Color & Materials Seasonal Direction through creating and executing categorical consumer and product color & material vision – by building early directional boards and/or presentations that offer insight into relevant Color, Graphic, and Material stories that will connect with our consumers and help to beautifully finish product for the season it is intended.
• Involvement in presenting design concepts; producing presentation materials in conjunction with design and category teams that effectively communicate the concept behind the line for internal and external audiences. Uses solid presentation skills to varied audiences. Is enthusiastic and inspiring.
• Define and drive forward seasonal color and material strategy, merchandising and application for various Footwear categories, assuring that color is applied in purposeful ways to serve the Footwear Point of View.
• Leads color & material design processes for assigned category or product group; ensures feasibility of designs, meeting price points, merchandising needs and product creation timelines.
• Ensure the consistent application of color and materials on product by prescribing the necessary standards the Footwear team would require of our factories, and assuring their adherence during manufacture
• Demonstrates expert understanding of products, product lines, product development process, and the specific markets in which Company does business.
• Work with PLM team to oversee the creation of category colorways and material-ways assuring consistency and market-relevance
• Collaborate and deliver Apparel alignment for key strategy seasonal initiatives.
• Work with Concept team in building corporate Seasonal Color Palettes for Footwear and help in their creation, distribution, and management.
• Guide Materials Innovation partners in building seasonal materials palettes that meet aesthetic requirements and pass all necessary testing standards.
• Help to develop, order, and maintain CSI standards and library for the Footwear team.

What else is important?
• BFA or BID in Industrial Design with 5-8+ years experience
• Experience in performance apparel and footwear.
• Basic understanding of construction, materials, color application, color standards and adherence to best practices for each.
• Strong presentation skills and comfort working with a group in an extremely fast paced environment.
• Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to successfully meet multiple deadlines.
• Excellent Mac computer skills with full proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Keynote, and InDesign. Other computer skills: Office, iWork.
• Obsessive drive to push the boundaries on Footwear.
• Candidates must present an online or PDF portfolio of color and/or footwear samples
