A Little About Us
The Senior External Reporting Analyst is a key member of the External Reporting team and will work closely with groups across Yahoo including the CEO Cabinet, Legal, IR, PR, Technical Accounting, Tax, Operations Finance and the business leaders to create earnings press releases and quarterly and annual reports. The position is based in Sunnyvale, CA.
A Lot About You
You will participatein the preparation of all external financial reporting – including earnings releases, annual report and other required SEC filings. You will also help coordinate the information gathering process across the organization and also interacts with the Company’s external auditors. You will provide technical consulting support to management on the treatment of accounting issues, implementation of new accounting standards, compliance with U.S. GAAP, and SEC regulations. You will monitor compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC and PCAOB regulations in the context of financial reporting. Also, you are involved in monthly preparation of internal financial reports.
Your Day
• Participating in and enhancing the process for preparation of the Company's quarterly earnings release and quarterly and annual SEC financial statements.
• Participating in and enhancing the process for preparation of the Company's annual report and related year-end filings.
• Participating in the preparation of the monthly equity rollforward and statement of cash flows.
• Monitoring, participating in and enhancing formal processes for internal controls surrounding the external reporting process to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) requirements.
• Monitoring, participating in and enhancing formal processes to ensure that appropriate evidential support is maintained to support all disclosures in the Company's SEC filings and documenting as appropriate.
• Providing technical research on accounting issues and new accounting standards and support internal management.
• Participating in the preparation of other SEC filings (i.e. 8-Ks, registration statements).
• Working with Investor Relations department to ensure that investor presentations are consistent with SEC filings.
• Working with Company’s external auditors.
You Must Have
• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of work experience including minimum of 2 years of big four public accounting experience with large active public clients/SEC reporting exposure.
