Responsibilities:
Direct and manage the Men’s Design team in all stages of development. Collaborate with Chief Creative Officer on meeting the divisional goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with design team on developing trend right styles for all categories
• Collaborate with the Chief Creative Officer to create color, concept and big ideas for each season
• Partner with designers to identify which products, classifications and trends should be executed
• Work with merchandising and production teams throughout line development to ensure margin goals are met
• Develop seasonal timelines, which identify all development milestones for the design and product development process
• Present the line to various groups within the organization
• Research and develop, trend watch
• Update direction based on shifts in product performance, feedback from market and competitive trends
• Provide all necessary collection information related to styles, colors and trends
• Provide artwork direction per delivery and review print concept boards. Confirm print color combo, artwork size and print technique
• Approve samples within the development process
• Attend fitting to ensure all fit and aesthetic objectives are achieved
• Maintain strong partnership with Production team
• Manage the design budget and adhere to the design/corporate calendar

• Mentor, train and develop staff’s capabilities and professional growth as effective business managers

Qualifications:
Pattern knowledge
• Minimum 8-10 years in relevant product development experience, with strong product knowledge and design experience
• 6+ years managing and leading a team
Experience with CAD, Photoshop and Microsoft Office programs
• Ability to clearly articulate a point of view
• Knowledge of the wash/dye process, embellishments and different fabrics
• Flat sketching skills
• Effective time management and ability to stay organized
• Strong understanding of wholesale and retail business
• Re-coloring
• Able to adapt to a fast pace ever changing environment
• Strong knowledge of fashion trends and brand aesthetics
• Color sensibility
• Process and an ability to communicate this with production partners
• Experience and knowledge with working with overseas vendors
• Presentation skills
• Leadership presence
• Extensive experience in the entire development process from: concept, sketch, development and samples to production
