The Converse merchandising team obsesses our consumer needs and are industry leaders in creating the right product mix in the marketplace across the globe. They blend art with science to bring the Converse vision to life in our physical and digital retail environments to ensure a premium category consumer experience.
The global merchandising teams drives assortment direction focused on Converse consumer right assortments to ensure a holistic, premium, segmented, differentiated and elevated marketplace. This role brings the global strategy to life through creating assortment frameworks and module grids that become consumer-right assortments. Global Merchants are responsible for driving the brand vision marketwide and working with their Geo partners across the integrated marketplace to drive well-informed assortment strategies.
Drives the One Team philosophy through partnership with the Global and Geo cross-functional teams to deliver well-informed assortments to the consumer
Acts as the pivot for the product categories as well as the bridge from brand to marketplace
Key Responsibilities
Develop and communicate Brand assortment strategy, leading with Company website
Kickoff the Marketplace Capacity & Insights information gathering and consolidation process with Geo Category Merchandising teams
Integrate MC&I into Assortment Frameworks and provide to the Global Product team to inform line plan decisions
Provide Design and Color partners with marketplace insights on key styles
Collaborate and drive key brand and icon stories through integrating defining items and key looks into Minimum Credible Assortments market-wide
Ensure consistent brand storytelling through the creation of modules
Provide well-informed, seasonal category modular assortments to the Geo Brand Merchandising teams
Recommend target wholesale and retail price to Product & Brand Geography Merchants
Drive alignment on geo adoption of seasonal strategies and assortments
Drives Flow and launch
Qualifications
What you bring to Converse
Fundamental footwear and/or apparel merchandising experience: you have worked for global organizations to create and deliver fashion product collections and assortments that meet consumer and channel distribution needs
A track record of progressive and successful similar experience (minimum 10 years) within a Fortune 500 / multinational company, as Sr Footwear Product Line Director, Footwear & Apparel Merchandising Director, Footwear Business Unit Director, or similar position
Ability to manage product delivery calendars with competing priorities across a global organization
High level of merchandising and product acumen, along with market, trend & consumer mapping
Proven leadership experience managing team performance including the ability to mentor, inspire, develop, promote people, and maximize their potential in a fast-changing environment
Exceptional influencing, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to deliver results against tight and complex timelines
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree in Retail Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field
Domestic and international travel (limited Int’l) required (±25% of time on the road)
