POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The Senior Web Designer drives the marketing objectives by providing overall creative direction for interactive design including websites and online marketing. This position builds and maintains multi-channel brand integrity through consistent direction and design, tightly integrated with brand creative direction, while ensuring on time delivery of all interactive creative content. Manages, mentors, and leads a team of web designers and copywriters.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Collaborates with Brand Creative teams to conceive web, email, video, rich media and interactive campaigns; ensures that a consistent message is portrayed online to coincide with print and other key identity campaigns. Ensures brand individuality, excitement, impact and accuracy in all interactive creative. Integrates company branding, including images and in store collateral design into a cohesive web environment.
• Creates and executes online design solutions that integrate brand guidelines, user experience best practices and e-commerce business goals. Creates design standards for all web design (color palettes, templates, photography, typography, and interactive design) for each brand.
• Applies innovative web best practices to design interactive tools/pages, templates, and new website implementations to enhance user engagement.
• Develops and executes all interactive creative, especially for robust email program, as well as rich media and other standard online assets.
• Manages and coaches web designers and copywriters. Provides creative direction to internal developers and copywriters.
• Researches retail online space/segment for creative inspiration/new ideas.
• Responsible for setting direction on web photography and retouching.
• Responsible for creation of all editorial content on site.
• Manages relationships with outside vendors, design agencies and freelancers. Develops an online image bank, and historical media banks.
• Manages web design and web maintenance budget.
• Oversees web photography and re-touching. Maintains websites through weekly updates.
• Responds to internal and external requests where possible, and asking questions and researching answers where necessary.
• Partners with management to continually improve processes and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BFA/BA required in graphic design or related field.
• 5-7 years of interactive design/art direction experience with an emphasis in fashion retail, ideally with a multi-channel retailer. 4 years of supervisory experience for designers or art directors.
• Creative and strategic critical thinker with high attention to details and excellent organizational skills. Executive level presentation skills with strong ability to influence others.
• Proficient knowledge of internet technology and terminology. Strong knowledge of HTML & XML.
• Excellent knowledge of collateral & marketing design, with specialization in web/interactive marketing and site design.
• Mac proficiency and fluency in the following programs:

◦ Adobe Indesign
◦ Adobe Photoshop
◦ Adobe Illustrator
◦ Adobe Image-Ready
◦ Macromedia Flash
◦ Macromedia Dreamweaver
• Ability to deliver high volume of assets under tight deadlines.
