JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for purchasing a variety of complex or technical materials, supplies or services. Interfaces with Business Units stakeholders to manage the day to day relationship as it pertains to purchase requirement definition, requisition creation and invoice reconciliation. Thorough understanding of the Procure to Pay process and ability to troubleshoot issues and identify solutions. Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with Business Units, A/P, Strategic Sourcing, Contracts Administration and Suppliers.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Collaborates with BU stakeholders to understand purchase requirements for products or services
Verifies and validates that the requested purchase is in alignment with standard purchasing practices or escalates as required to the appropriate Sourcing Team Member
Identifies new suppliers requiring Vendor Set-up and collaborates with the Supplier Enablement team
Manages purchase orders through all stages (creation, change, tracking, receipt, invoicing and PO closure)
Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments and cancellations
Interfaces with BU stakeholders to determine successful receipt/delivery of products and services
Manages 3 way match process through closure
Develops and maintains productive relationships in the supplier community including minority vendors and diversity programs to enhance Charter's reputation in the communities served
Mentors and develops less experienced purchasing professionals, if applicable
Develops deep culture of customer service excellence within the team.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills /Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Strong working knowledge of Ariba Procure to Pay Solution
Ability to work independently
Critical thinking and analytical skills
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Communications skills
Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks and meet deadlines
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Related Work Experience
5+ years experience in purchasing operations
5+ years experience in negotiation, and project management
3+ years experience with the Cable and or telecommunications industry
