Responsibilities
As part of the IT Theatrical, Business Operations & CPG/Brand Management group, this position is key to providing design and business support to the Financial Contract Administration and Reporting business and technical development team; provide support to application issues on a day-to-day basis; innovate, design, test and implement quality software solutions within company standards; and collaborate effectively with the IT teams and business community to provide expert system development life cycle support.
Responsibilities will include:
Lead the requirements analysis/gathering, business process definition and design sessions with the business stakeholders to deliver new functionality and production support.
Create functional and high-level technical designs based on business requirements which includes “As Is” and “To Be” workflows, requirement definition documents, use case specifications, screen and high level conceptual table design, test plans and other established NBCU standard documentation.
Work closely with the PARIS IT team (managers, analysts, and developers) to ensure the smooth and efficient design and development lifecycle.
Create, maintain and execute project plan when required.
Participate in peer design reviews to ensure that the design is complete and up to the PARIS IT team’s standards.
Provide expert critical thinking and trouble-shooting skills to assess, identify, test, and resolve reported application issues for daily production support of the application
Coordinate with other IT project teams within the organization as needed to implement quality solutions for business initiatives
Provide training, support and guidance to the business community on application features and enhancements.
Work closely with the director and managers to establish project scoping, budget estimates, priorities and provide regular project status.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required in computer science, information systems or related field.
Minimum 5-10 years business analysis experience with at least 2 years in the entertainment industry, preferably in participations or royalties.
Proven experience working with applications supporting large financial data bases and complex calculations.
Minimum 2 years of experience with custom applications preferably on web-based financial applications.
Proven experience gathering and documenting business requirements, writing use cases, business rules, test plans and test cases.
Proven experience designing screens and other user interfaces via tools such as Visio.
Proven experience using Microsoft SQL to build queries to extract data to support requirements, validate test results and ad hoc user requests.
Proven experience and understanding of the full system development life cycle and the dynamics of large application development projects.
Proven experience working on production support as well as new projects.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Strong critical thinking skills, strong analytical skills, solutions oriented.
Excellent written and oral communications – ability to communicate to all levels of the organization, both business and IT.
Must be able to articulate complex application concepts in layman’s terms.
Desired Characteristics
Proven experience with studio based participations, royalty and residuals calculations, financial or payment functions as an analyst or consultant.
Working understanding of relational data bases.
Experience with Agile development methodology.
SharePoint, Jira, Axure tools
Informatica , Unix scripting and Tibco experience a plus.
Strong customer focus.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with aggressive deadlines and changing priorities.
