Sr Business Analyst, Business Intelligence
We are looking for an IT Senior Business Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team for Motion Pictures/Home Entertainment. The candidate will work with multiple departments (Product, Marketing, Content, Finance etc.) in order to build a data-driven culture and improve our performance. The ideal candidate adapts to a dynamic demand workplace switching between setting up an attribution tracking system for marketing one day, structuring the product analytics team the next, and advising on a global expansion strategy in between. The candidate should be intimately familiar with the technical side of business intelligence work, but at the same time able to think on a company-wide, strategic level with a strong BRM skillset.
The Senior Business Analyst will also support the current and future applications and the requirement analysis process. Providing consulting on reactive, proactive and enhancement support services, as well as testing services to one or many applications
Core Responsibilities
1. Analyze/understand business challenges; map current business processes t the new system r service, determine interface requirements, and resolve any issues which may affect the business process.
2. Develop detailed functional requirements & testing scenarios that can be used to develop internal design specifications for systems r services.
3. Work with the technical analysts to ensure that the delivered system matches the functionality specified; Ensure business satisfaction with IT services and products; understand and communicate user expectations.
4. Assist the users in developing their user or business procedures.
5. Help train users in the functionality developed.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of hands on experience working with very disparate data sets, including basic statistical analyses, data visualization, data mining, and data cleansing/transformation.
• Technical skills, including some combination of:
◦ Advanced data manipulation skills in SQL-like languages
◦ Analytics tools experience (such as Pandas, R, SQL, Alteryx)
◦ Reporting Tool experience with tools like Cognos, Micro Strategy and Business Objects
◦ Experience performing analysis and profiling over new datasets to determine context and value
• Data visualization (such as Tableau, shiny, Excel)
• Ability to communicate insights verbally, visually, and in writing.
• Curious and meticulous, with the patience to dig into murky data sets and carefully document your work.
• Extremely organized with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects within tight timelines
• Proven track record of defining and executing key analysis with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail
• The ability to create a hypothesis, collect data to either support or disprove the hypothesis and recommend solutions to help move a metric
• The ability to data mine across a large and varied business area or key priority for the company
• Experience with working both with technical and analytical profiles
• Degree ideally in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science or related degree or Economics/Business
• Extremely organized with the ability to work on and manage multiple projects within tight timelines
• Proven track record of defining and executing key analysis with minimal supervision
• The ability to create a hypothesis, collect data to either support or disprove the hypothesis and recommend solutions to help move a metric
