Responsibilities
The role of Sponsorship and Commercial Partnerships Director builds on 3 years of substantial and sustained revenue growth, capitalising on the strength and breadth of commercial opportunities offered by Company’s internationally renowned portfolio of pay TV channels.
Working closely with NBCU’s Advertising Sales rep Sky Media, as well as multiple internal stakeholder departments, the role is responsible for achieving and exceeding annual revenue targets through creative conception, sales and delivery of sponsorships and commercial partnerships for clients in the UK.
Qualifications/Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Build and nurture effective relationships with internal programming, marketing, digital research and compliance teams to understand UK channel priorities, identify and develop viable multi-platform commercial opportunities for sale, and effectively manage smooth implementation of projects.
•Manage, support and develop relationship with the Sky Media sponsorship team.
•Work closely with Sky Media and NBCU Marketing and programming teams to develop a sales and trade strategy to generate creative sales solutions from the network’s portfolio of television channels, websites and other media assets.
• Manage the smooth delivery of projects from creative conception, production, scheduling and reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
•Forecast revenues and develop a business plan to grow net revenue from partnerships to exceed targets set for the financial year.
•Initiate, support and assist development of pre and post research for relevant campaigns to develop case studies to facilitate repeat business and enrich sales collateral.
•Review current process / systems to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies.
•Build and maintain senior level client relationships.
•Develop and maintain an effective database of new and existing clients with knowledge of planning cycles and processes.
•Support the VP Ad Sales in exploring opportunities for collaboration with other strategic partners to broaden scope of proposals and generate new revenue streams.
•Develop/maintain relationship with Central Ad Sales team to ensure alignment of objectives and process to support generation of relevant multi-territory proposals, meeting regularly to discuss pipelines, delivery and share best practice across territories.
•Support marketing team where appropriate through negotiation of Barter deals and prize sourcing.
•Support internal strategic initiatives through provision and management of unsold commercial opportunities.
•Evaluate opportunities to develop non-linear sales opportunities and develop a business plan/strategy to achieve these objectives.
•Work closely with the VP Ad Sales to develop and communicate strategic agenda within Company UK & Emerging Markets team to promote commercial considerations for sponsorship & marketing partnerships, driving collaboration and best practice.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•Senior level experience in advertising sales for a major broadcaster.
•Pro-active mind-set with proven track record of driving significant revenue and exceeding targets.
•Working knowledge of the UK sponsorship market, employing a highly creative approach to non-standard client solutions.
•Analytical and strategic approach to using data to develop first class responses to client briefs and post campaign analysis.
•Ability to calculate and apply a tenable pricing structure to a broad portfolio of media assets.
•Excellent strategic planning, negotiation and presentation skills.
•Relationship driven approach to sales and development, boasting an extensive network of senior client and agency contacts.
•Strong communication skills both verbal and written, including confidence and ability to communicate effectively with senior personnel across the business.
•Experience of working closely with both media owner and client marketing teams on campaigns to be able to align objectives and leverage mutually beneficial strategies.
•Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with all departments.
•Excellent project management skills and capability to work across multiple projects and time lines.
•Commercially minded, focused on bottom line results, combined with an entrepreneurial and growth driven orientation.
