The Company Residential Services team is in the business of enabling customers to connect with people, information and entertainment by delivering integrated products and service experience for consumers while enhancing our competitiveness in the marketplace. The team provides customers with Company Home phone, local and long distance services, Company Internet, Company Satellite TV and amazing new technologies such as Company Fibe TV.
Position Description:
The Training Design Specialist will be an individual with a 'hands on' approach to multiple types of training development. This role focuses on designing online, in class, and leader led training content for multiple Company channels, including Retail and Door to Door.
With your training design knowledge, you are responsible for designing and delivering outstanding creative work, on time and that meets Company standards. This role is an internal creative resource that assists the training team in bringing the training content to life both visually and informatively.
We appreciate that you have previous experience in the field of Learning and Training. You recognize the big picture and demonstrate a passion for building training content and transferring knowledge and best practices. Inherent in who you are is your ability to simplify complex requirements and project documents. You are people savvy, which allows you comfortably and effectively to partner with diverse training audiences.
Job Duties/Accountabilities:
• Design e-learning, live training, leader guides and sales tools for multiple sales channels
• Design messaging with creativity and clarity, determining the most appropriate training vehicle
• Conduct training needs analysis through field visits and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
• Participate in cross functional teams to help define strategic plans
• Ensure corporate design standards are adhered to
• Convert complex projects into simple and effective collateral
Critical Qualifications/Competencies:
• Formal education/certification/designation(s) in Training including applied Adult Learning principles is an asset (ie - Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) Designation)
• Working knowledge of training, communication applications/tools; (Articulate, LMS platforms/SCORM)
• Solid MS Office Suite skills in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint & Excel
• Solid Instructional Design skills – ability to synthesise content into simple, fun, on-brand messaging
• Highly self motivated, proactive, comfortable multitasking with acute attention to detail. We want to make sure you read everything; be sure your favourite ice cream is included in your cover letter
• Copywriting expertise is an asset
• Bilingual, English/French is an asset
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French)
