Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains and updates scripts sourcing data from a REST API using Python
- Builds and orchestrates data flows in Tableau Prep, imputing missing data and other transformations to structure data for consumption
- Consumes data stored as flat files or in databases to build dashboard/visualizations in Tableau
- Ownership of the full ETL pipeline from programmatically accessing source data, transforming the data using Tableau Prep/Python and storing the data or building reports
- Analyzes the business objectives of various stakeholders and develops solutions that fit their business needs and issues
- Understands business requirements and translating them into specific software requirements
- Works closely with the team to continually improve application functionality, design, and usability
- Performs data reconciliation and quality/accuracy testing
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Tableau (preferred), or equivalent data discovery/visualization tools (e.g. Qlik, Power BI)
- Related certifications are a plus
- Experience with M365 platform/apps (e.g. SharePoint, Teams)
◦ Automation experience is a plus
- Experience in automation engineering and orchestration
- Experience with Python or other programming or scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, DAX)
- Experience using JIRA or other tracking tools
- Experience at Department of Transportation (DOT) is a plus
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related degree
- 3+ years relevant experience
- Experience working on federal contracts is a strong plus
- SQL experience
- Understanding of joins, data transformations, etc.
- U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain Public Trust in addition to DOT Background Investigation
- Current/active Public Trust is a plus
Required Skills:
- Ability to work in a highly “agile” environment (work planning/execution occurs iteratively, baseline is weekly, but often adapt to emerging needs from the customer)
- Ability to work and directly engage with a diverse group of stakeholders (sometimes independently)
- Strong time management and coordination skills, and ability to adjust to change
- Experience defining data and business process requirements
- Grasp of the principles, theories, and concepts of Agile software development life cycle
Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
