Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate opening for Sr. Specialist, Software Configuration Engineer (SWCE). This is a critical specialty engineering support role that performs technical software configuration engineering functions to establish new processes and controls. Interfaces with SW engineering to provide consistency of product performance, functionality of SW and system designs within requirements to meet operational implementation. The primary goal of this role is to manage technical processes and oversee the maintenance and integrity of software artifacts, baselines, and system configurations. This role also provides on-demand support to various engineering, cyber security and program management teams as a subject matter expert for analyses, technical task planning and completion, technical consultations, special topic discussions, tools support, DevOps support, and other tasking as required.
Essential Functions:
- Resolve technical issues for software configuration management processes and records.
- Administer software configuration management toolsets.
- Upgrade tools and provide technical support.
- Perform problem solving analysis on software products and systems.
- Plan, develop, integrate and test automation scripts.
- Configure, deploy and maintain Linux and Windows Virtual Machines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technologies, or related discipline with 6 years of software experience; or 4 years relevant software experience with a Graduate Degree.
- Proficient with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, Command Line and/or Python.
- Experience in Linux and Windows OS administration.
- Experience with continuous integration (CI) software such as Jenkins and Artifactory.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably MySQL.
- Experience using the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket).
- Experience with collaboration software like Bitbucket, Gitlab, ClearCase, or ClearQuest.
- Experience with Software build tools.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance is required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Certified in Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Network+, Windows, A+, or Linux+.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining software configuration management controls.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), agile system development, and DevSecOps tools and processes.
- Experience in Programming Languages: C/C++, C#, Java, Javascript, SQL.
- Experience with Git or similar Software Configuration Management tools.
- Experience in Agile software development lifecycle.
- Experience in creating, archiving and maintaining software builds and releases.
