Based in the eReader Capabilities group, the Senior Software Product Manager works with stakeholders around the world to help define and implement a global content strategy and manage eReader applications serving students in non-U.S. schools and professionals learning English.
Responsibilities include
• Partnering with engineering, UX, and stakeholders to manage the roadmap and development of eReader applications
• Collaborating with product lines and regional business units (BUs) to implement an integrated content workflow
• Developing a strategy and roadmap for narrative, interactive, and assessment authoring for products in harmony with a master strategy
• Gathering and prioritizing requirements for authoring and application features from stakeholders and partners in product management, engineering, and architecture
• Writing functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and other documents necessary for the implementation of features and new content types
• Partnering with the UX team to create rapid prototypes, solicit customer feedback, and create consumer-grade application interfaces
• Coordinating content development and maintaining content standards and documentation for authoring teams
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ product management experience with a focus on instructional design and digital educational content
• Experience with content formats including HTML, ePub3, PDF, math formats, audio, and video
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Highly collaborative nature to lead and thrive in team environments
• Ability to deliver a compelling presentation in front of small and large groups
• Ability to write a clear, concise technical document
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Passion for improving the world through education
Preferred knowledge and skills:
• Background in instructional design and/or learning theory related to interactive multimedia; experience with K-12, non-U.S., and English Language Learner users preferred
• Experience on an agile software development team; Agile certification preferred
• Comfort with JIRA
• Experience with eReader and assessment applications
• History of both web and mobile application development
• Experience developing prototypes and participating in user research
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and practice
• Experience communicating professionally with non-native English speakers
• Fluency in at least one foreign language; Spanish or Portuguese preferred
