Job Description
The Role: This is an opportunity for a strong product manager to help lead cross-functional efforts for a successful courseware product with global reach. You will be responsible for the end-to-end product platform, in addition to supporting common capabilities that will be integrated into other products throughout the overall product portfolio.
The Candidate: You are an experienced product manager with a track record of successes in the digital product domain. You have a passion for building simple, elegant, and highly effective products that deliver value to customers and stand out from the competition. You are equally comfortable talking tech with engineers, ideating on designs with UX, and engaging with customers & stakeholders to understand requirements or demo new product features. You are adept at both sustaining the growth of mature products and at developing and releasing new products to market. You are ambitious, flexible, pragmatic, and eager to have a major impact on learners worldwide and the overall success of the company.
Qualifications
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Product planning and execution through all phases of the product development lifecycle
• Defining, tracking, and leading the execution of the roadmap
• Prioritizing software features collaboratively with peers in product category management, to maximize the customer and business value delivered in each release
• Writing functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and other documents necessary for the implementation of the roadmap
• Leading cross-functional teams to define product specifications, establish milestones, and manage quality assurance activities
• Serving as product owner in agile development forums (daily scrums, iteration planning and reviews, etc.)
• Partnering with the UX team to create rapid prototypes, solicit customer feedback, and create consumer-grade application interfaces
• Working closely with engineering, quality assurance, and project management teams to scope efforts, identify and manage dependencies, and verify implementations
• Identifying and driving forward innovative technology solutions that significantly advance the product or capability value proposition
• Coordinating closely with other product teams to support integrated feature releases across the product portfolio
Qualifications
• Bachelor's required
• Minimum of 5 years product management experience, with demonstrated success defining and building digital products and/or native mobile apps
• Experience functioning as a product owner in an agile software development team
• Ability to lead within cross-functional virtual teams spanning multiple regions and cultures
• Experience driving a solution set from conception to implementation via requirements documents, visual prototypes, and functional & design specifications
• Methodological expertise in user-centered design, with a track record of developing prototypes into successful feature releases
• Ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter who can work with little management guidance or direction
• Very strong attention to detail
• Strategic thinker with bias for action
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, find creative resolutions and drive for results
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail
