The Ally team is looking for a passionate Senior Front-End Engineer to join this small, highly productive team. Primary responsibilities will include:
• Be a key player in the development and design of our course content accessibility SaaS service;
• Deliver high quality, responsive, easy to use and pixel perfect User Interfaces;
• Build and maintain an analytics architecture for collecting and reporting usage metrics;
• Conduct test driven development as an integral part of delivering high quality software;
• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional and agile team of UX designers and software engineers;
• Assist in the maintenance and automation of front-end build tools based on gulp;
• Participate in daily stand-ups, design sessions, code reviews and sprint demos;
• Respond to the unique challenges of delivering and maintaining cloud-based software;
Professional Qualifications
• Motivation and dedication to make a positive, global impact gets you a long way;
• Ability to code HTML5, CSS and JavaScript in your sleep;
• A strong demonstrable portfolio of high quality projects. Contributions to open source development will earn you bonus points;
• Experience in responsive and accessible User Interface development, including single page applications and front-end frameworks such as Angular and jQuery;
• Ability to take ownership over tasks and get things done with limited supervision;
• Experience with Unix-based operating systems, including maintaining local server installations such as Apache HTTPd and Postgres;
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services is a plus;
• Experience with monitoring, telemetry and analytics tools such as Google Analytics is a definite advantage;
• Experience with Scala, Java or NodeJS would be considered an asset
