Company is searching for an experienced developer to join our platform API team. This is an opportunity to build products for the premier live event company, where customers stream to millions of viewers every year, and the engineering challenges are diverse and deep.
A successful candidate will have prior experience building web services, and able to bring that knowledge to bear. We’re looking for engineers who understand how to scale APIs, architect distributed systems, and are familiar with various databases and other open source tools. We also value the importance of testing and writing clear, maintainable code.

Responsibilities
• Write, deploy, and maintain web services that tie together a variety of clients, from browsers to hardware encoders.
• Solve scaling and availability problems.
• Participate in the team — review code, speak up at IPM, and work towards the group’s success.
Qualifications
• Proven experience with web services.
• Preference given to expertise with Company website and JavaScript.
• Bonus points for Scala, Java, and/or Ruby.
• A penchant for testing, especially test-driven development.
• Experience with agile methodologies, including pair programming, is a plus.
• Familiarity with the open source tools of the trade, e.g. Redis, Varnish, MySQL, etc.
• Prior work with the cloud, either AWS or GCP, preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
