Senior Product Manager, Reach
Crackle, Company Television’s (SPT) digital network, is looking for an extremely talented Sr. Product Manager whose primary focus will be increasing Crackle’s reach (first time user audiences) across all platforms and business verticals. This role’s particular specialty will be growing audiences and platform specific features via consumer facing applications as well as internal editorial publishing tools. In this capacity, the role will participate in and drive Crackle’s cross platform experiences, user data analysis and editorial UI/UX roadmaps thereby ensuring the business is able to achieve its growth and monetization targets.
This role is for someone deeply connected to the world of digital video entertainment; a person who understands consumer behavior (data driven) and evolving trends with respect to video consumption on traditional platforms (e.g., linear TV) and emerging platforms and devices.
The Sr. Product Manager - Reach will be responsible for defining enhancements to consumer facing applications, OEM partner platform specific initiatives, RFP’s, new technology integrations etc. while essentially acting as a gateway for any/all new feature requests across all platforms including but not limited to defining, maintaining and enforcing NFR’s. He or she will also be passionate about what they do and is motivated by the opportunity to have a direct impact on and a front row seat to the digital revolution affecting media today.
The qualified candidate will have the ability to be nimble and recognize when to pivot strategy in an always-evolving digital landscape, while taking advantage of industry trends both locally and globally. The ideal candidate will ask questions like, what are our truths related to the initial user experience? What is the strategic importance of a given platform, how does that importance translate into prioritization and how can we integrate new platform specific capabilities into our apps in a meaningful way? Additionally, the qualified candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of Agile software development methodologies, consensus building, stakeholder management and product management best practices in an agile environment in order to effectively manage multiple concurrent and dynamically changing efforts is essential as well.

Responsibilities:
• Keep on top of industry trends and technologies, and be prepared to apply them quickly
• Keep on top of Crackle’s trends and technologies, specializing in new and upcoming feature sets
• Refine and enhance Crackle’s future user benefit offering while ensuring this doesn’t come at the expense of the existing user experience
• Author detailed product briefs explaining the why and the what for a given initiative
• Refine and enhance Crackle’s editorial publishing tools while working with stakeholders on new features and initiatives
• Create flow charts and user stories while working with solution design and UI/UX teams to ensure product optimization
• Work with project management/release team to ensure final products are built to the product specification and UI/UX specifications
• Develop and track all key metrics related to new application launches and define coherent before/after pictures to ensure the business is investing scarce development resources in the correct areas.
• Assist in defining the long term roadmap for a specific product to ensure all meet business objectives
• Relationship management with stakeholder including driving consensus and prioritization
• Determine if external consultants or contractors should be added to the internal project and/or development team(s) in order to successfully complete the project. If required, handle the recruiting and managing of these temporary resources.
• Ensure that all new features, enhancements, applications are viable across all territories/implementations.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the digital media, marketing, advertising or entertainment fields.
• 5 years of experience in managing subscription, heavy user acquisition or high quality streaming services (live or VOD).
• 3-5 years experience refining/enhancing editorial publishing tools with a clear conceptual understanding pf how publishing tools/API’s and services all fit together server side in order to enable/facilitate building delightful client side experiences
• Background in at least one of the following types of products: connected TVs, mobile devices, game consoles, API micro-services
• Demonstrated ability to work on a diverse scope of concurrent projects requiring detailed analysis, creative/practical problem solving, and sound judgment.
• Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
• Must demonstrate solid organization/communication skills.
• Data driven with a strong attention to detail and familiarity with analytics tools (e.g. Adobe analytics and the like)
• Ability to secure cooperation and drive consensus across senior management and other departments as well as partners internally and externally
• Should be a movie, television, music and technology junkie
• The candidate must have a BS, BA, or advanced degree in computer science, communications or related field, or relevant work experience
• MBA not required but strongly recommended, understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript and other presentation technologies as well as streaming media protocols and DRM such as HLS, Smooth Streaming, PlayReady etc. a plus
• Global experience not required but a strong plus
