Within Shared Services there are over 1,000 employees working across 16 distinctive departments including IT, Finance, HR, Logistics, PR, Property, Digital and Purchasing.
THE ROLE
The Group Purchasing Department works closely with the business to ensure the right commercial terms are in place with the right suppliers for the Goods Not For Resale (GNFR) needs of all brands within the Company.
The Group Purchasing team consists of Category specialists and generalists responsible for a wide variety of non-fashion Procurement. Reporting to a Purchasing Manager, the Senior Buyer plays a key role in the team with responsibility for sourcing, negotiating contracts, general category management, working cross-functionally with key stakeholders, and managing key supplier relationships to deliver best value for all the brands in the business.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
• Managing the supplier selection and sourcing process as well as negotiating commercial and contractual terms.
• Problem solving by analysing spend, business needs, key trends internally and externally to create and develop current and future opportunities.
• Develop category and market knowledge to support the execution of category strategies.
• Responsible for contributing to the annual Purchasing savings targets, maximum leverage, and minimising both the total cost of ownership and any risks.
• Ability to write tenders and build contract documentation with limited guidance, have a clear understanding of the contractual implications for all terms contained within final contract.
• Work collaboratively with the business and manage key stakeholder relationships in support of adding best value to the categories being managed.
• Compile business cases which set out the all available options for the business and makes recommendations for the categories and suppliers managed.
• Manage key supplier relationships, holding regular reviews with suppliers to give and receive information on performance against SLA’s, KPI’s documenting agreed actions and managing performance against the agreed timelines.
• Ensure contracts calendar is updated and ensure sourcing and negotiation needs for new contracts are entered into in goodtime.
MUST HAVES
• Purchasing professional with a minimum 2-3 years’ experience, preferably in a large / medium size dynamic company with a significant purchasing spend.
• CIPS not essential as investment in CIPS training is available.
• Excellent tender and contract writing skills.
• A motivated, self-starter, able to network with colleagues and stakeholders across the Company in order to work effectively in cross functional teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, particularly in negotiation, working with and influencing others.
• Proactive and results orientated.
• Able to manage their own time and priorities.
