SUMMARY
The Senior Manager will be part of a team that develops and manages the corporation’s global Strategic Sourcing of goods and services. The role will work closely with senior business leaders to influence sourcing decisions. This role reports to the Director of Strategic Sourcing.
He or she will drive supplier consolidation and cost savings efforts throughout the company as an individual contributor. The primary focus will be establishing category strategies for the General Business Services business groups which includes the following organizations: Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Human Resources, Real Estate, Facilities, Legal, and Procurement. Major category spend areas are real estate, physical security, facilities management, professional services, contingent labor, and business-specific software.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning:
● Develop strategic sourcing strategies for specific categories being purchased using focused industry analysis, criticality analysis, business knowledge, competitive analysis, and sourcing expertise.
● Coordinate external research and provide assessment of category supply market conditions.
● Produce and deliver content-rich category plans (incl. market analysis/external competitor analysis).
● Identify, research, and prioritize possible sourcing opportunities through internal spend analysis, knowledge of Business Unit, potential savings, and/or urgency of business need.
● Identify new purchasing opportunities and savings strategies through spend concentration analysis, and then ensure Sourcing meets its committed savings objectives with support from each Business Unit.
Execution:
● Effectively integrate with functional area groups and develop good relationships with key stakeholders.
● Manage multiple projects at the same time.
● Manage and lead identified sourcing team through all sourcing activities including RFP development and analysis.
● Manage supplier risk for business-critical managed programs.
● Effectively prepare, coordinate and conduct all supplier negotiations.
● Memorialize results of negotiations through development and review of contractual language.
● Develop methodologies to capture savings as well as manage value driven negotiations.
● Deliver on cost reduction commitments through the identification, development and execution of strategic sourcing initiatives.
Governance, Risk and Controls:
● Develop and implement global efficiencies, standardized tools, practices and procedures shortening the quotation, RFP, new supplier, and decision making and evaluation time.
● Lead development and execution of a performance driven supplier governance and management process resulting in structured feedback, joint problem solving, simplification, reduced variation and overall quality improvements.
● Support KPI and metric reporting to key stakeholders and decision makers to drive insights into business trends and opportunities and measure results.
● Support development and adherence to financial, fraud-prevention, and risk management controls throughout Procurement processes.
● Provide thought leadership, development, and guidance on E*TRADE procurement policies and practices.

● All E*TRADE departments in all regions/geographies.
● Key Members of Management and other key stakeholders.
● Technology, Finance, Accounts Payable, Third Party Oversight , and Procurement teams
● Executive leaders (for communicating strategic sourcing results).
REQUIREMENTS
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE
● Minimum of 7+ years of leadership experience in global procurement, category management, setting procurement strategies, driving cost savings, consolidating suppliers, and improving supplier performance.
● Management consulting experience with top tier consulting firm if consulting experience is in Procurement related projects, can count towards 5+ years of experience mentioned above.
● Exceptional leadership, excellent business/financial acumen and project management skills to lead global teams and to ensure on time execution of projects, especially sourcing projects, process improvement initiatives, and accounts payable/procurement automation projects.
● Proven ability to move fluidly between strategic initiatives and topics, and be a hands-on leader when necessary.
● Analytically minded, able to visualize, conceptualize and solve problems, using data-driven analysis for the purpose of drawing conclusions to enable better decisions, promote process standardization, and improved usage of tools and best practices.
● Solid understanding of international procurement law with correlating ability to author/negotiate: master supply agreements, professional services agreements, statements of work, change requests, amendments and so forth.
● Demonstrated global perspective and understanding of factors impacting E*TRADE’ business and their suppliers.
● Excellent skills in internal and external relationship management: supplier management skills including ability to develop and manage business driven supplier executive relationships and, ability to develop relationships with senior leaders and influence business stakeholders to adopt improved sourcing methods and process compliance.
● Self-starter with willingness to go above and beyond requirements, proficient in leading and setting direction for cross-functional teams, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence and drive change across all levels of the organization and geographical boundaries.
● Strong attention to detail in preparation of oral and written presentations for use in decision making by executive management team.
● Solid analytical and computer skills (proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required and experience with Oracle, contract management databases, e-invoicing tools and other procurement-specific tools is preferred.

● He/she must be well organized, a natural self-starter with a willingness to learn and embrace new methodologies, while employing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● He/she will hold a passport, be permitted to work in the US with a full driver’s license.
● This role will require periodic travel to key North American markets.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, TRAINING
● BA/BS in business, finance, purchasing or related field. MBA degree preferred.
● Ideal candidate will have CPM or CPSM certification
