The Role
Are you a storyteller that is highly attuned to the market? Can you create value-based messaging to promote our unique solutions? At its core, Product Marketing at Company is responsible for determining the right strategies to take various solutions to market. In this position, you’ll work closely with sales, demand generation, content marketing, segment marketing and product management to understand business needs, and deliver the right message to that audience. This role is multifaceted and requires you to be both strategic and tactical with a passion for identifying business opportunities, recommending and executing marketing tactics for solutions and industries, and measuring results. This position reports to the Vice President of Marketing and is based in San Francisco.
What You'll Do
• Develop a deep understanding of the market for retail operations solutions. Identify customer goals, challenges, buying behaviors and sales motions.
• Define the target buyers, market, and the corresponding go-to-market strategies.
• Analyze the sales cycle and formulate ideas and approaches to optimize the selling process.
• Launch new products and releases, be the key central ‘launch owner’ for Company solutions and coordinate resources across the company.
• Drive product positioning and messaging to clearly and simply articulate the value prop to prospective buyers and channel partners.
• Use your deep knowledge of the product and marketplace to contribute thought leadership and campaign pieces for our blog, social media, and demand generation.
• Create a broad spectrum of sales tools and collateral to communicate the value proposition of Company’ products and solutions for different level audiences and for different target segments.
• Partner with the sales team to support our sellers from a training and enablement perspective including competitive battle cards, product training, datasheets, first call slides, and demo scripts.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of marketing experience with demonstrated success in a SaaS or software environment
• 2+ years product marketing experience
• Proven track record of developing repeatable go-to-market motions for various products or solutions.
• Experience with marketing automation, lead management, email marketing or consumer marketing platforms a plus.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; highly effective presentation skills, copywriting a plus.
• Ability to work across organizational lines, command respect, and influence without authority.
• Highly skilled at critical decision-making; ability to evaluate business issues and resolve problems; ability to develop and write a business plan.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Experience conducting and analyzing market and competitive research.
• Must be able to thrive in a highly dynamic, flexible work environment and switch rapidly from strategy to execution.
