We are looking for a Senior Manager of Ecommerce Fulfillment to be a leader on the Logistics team as we continue improving the infrastructure to support our growing ecommerce business. S/He will own day to day management and continuous improvement of partner companies in fulfillment and transportation to support the growth of the ecommerce business along with development of systems and processes that enhance our overall operations.
• Manage daily operational performance of partners making use of metrics and daily dashboards to ensure business objectives are supported
• Project manage process improvement activities over the EC Fulfillment sites to improve service level, reduce contracted per unit costs, and improve quality. For example, a project may include asking our partner company to analyze the pick process to identify improvement opportunities or switching box formats to reduce packing process costs and material costs
• Lead future RFP processes with potential EC Fulfillment vendors to build out Company’s ecommerce network to support the growth of the business
• Support vendor selection and negotiation processes for small-parcel transportation partners. Locate additional carrier partners and renegotiate contracts to maximize speed of delivery at the lowest possible cost.
• Manage the ecommerce packaging offerings to ensure customer experience and cost objectives are met.
• Actively work with final users including Partner Companies, IT, Merchandising and Allocation, and Finance teams on understanding current processes, proposing enhancements and agreeing on expected outcomes/timelinesfor projects and initiatives that will enhance ecommerce performance
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree (engineering, operations, or related field) and MBA preferred
• 7+ years of work experience in a similar role and/or area of responsibility including experience managing world class ecommerce fulfillment or distribution centers. Experience working with partner 3PL companies is also a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited structure and direct supervision
• Experience leading using performance metrics in high performance environments
• Experience leading structured process improvement activities and lean initiatives
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including cross-functional project management
• Proven track record of developing and driving adoption of cross departmental processes
• Experience interfacing with outside vendors
• Strong analytical ability
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to drive results
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel
• Ability to travel; up to 90% travel expected
• Japanese language skills preferred
