DESCRIPTION:
The Director will oversee teams that are responsible for development activities as it relates to the relevant projects, platforms, and applications
The Director provides leadership and coordination of all technical aspects of BI Analytics and Reporting development activities required to provide a productive and efficient system that meets business requirements. While supporting a specific development effort, the BI lead is also expected to help the company develop a strategic approach and directions with various BI tools.
This position is responsible for the management and delivery of the application and process portfolio to various business units at Company. This position drives the continued evolution, operation, and support of business processes and enabling applications to ensure effective and efficient achievement of business objectives.
Scope of work includes the development and sustainment of a strategy, plan and project leadership on major BI processes/systems efforts (including the development of project scope and expectations, and the coordination of resources from multiple internal and external sources).
Responsibilities:
Lead the technical architecture and design for a new Data Warehouse.
• Lead BI Analytics design with development, testing and rollout approach for various business integration opportunities.
• Initially will be the single resource responsible for construction of all objects necessary within the Data Warehouse.
• Interact with the project team members responsible for developing reports, interfaces, data conversion programs, and application extensions.
• Oversee activities for all assigned projects from planning to delivery and sustaining support to ensure that projects meet established business objectives, time and budget constraints.
• Provide scoping and estimating on Data Warehouse activities.
• Present technical information in easily understood terms in both verbal and written form.
• Work closely with fellow IT staff and project management to document standards and procedures for the definition of reference architectures (architecture roadmap).
• Interact and work directly with customer team members on projects and support issues.
• Facilitate communication upward and across project teams
• Follow change management and problem management processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Master's Degree in a related field is preferred.
• 10+ years of building, leading and managing high performing teams and projects
• 8+ years of experience in the analysis, design, implementation and support of IT application & systems
• 8+ year experience in BI Analytics using all COGNOS tools (version 8 and 10).
• 5+ year experience in BI Modeling using Framework Manager.
• 5+ year minimum of demonstrable experience in a Complex report development using Report studio, Analysis studio, Active Reports for desktop & mobile.
• Skilled in performance tuning, query/ Explain plan analysis for COGNOS Report queries
• 3+ year experience in cognos administration and deployment to different environments.
• 3+ year experience with TM1, PowerPlay / Transformer / Cognos Insight
• 3+ experience with Tableau development and administration is preferred.
• Experience with Tableau reporting tool is a plus
• Experience with Teradata Database, Oracle, MS SQL server.
• Experience with SAS and Big Data is a Plus.
• Experience with ETL Tool, Informatica, is a plus.
• Expertise in reviewing business requirements, technical requirements documentation.
• Expertise in writing high and low level design documentation.
• Experience in writing re-usable unit test documents.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience leading technical teams.
• Familiarity with use of version control / source code management tools.
• Full SDLC experience.
• Well organized, detail oriented, with an ability to multi-task.
• Excellent time-management, planning and prioritization.
• Comfortable working with all project stakeholders (business users, architects, project managers, business analysts, developers, test analysts, production support team) Entertainment industry experience is strongly desired.
