Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, BI Self-Service is responsible for the successful rollout and sustained user adoption of all functional areas of self-service business intelligence program at SiriusXM. Working closely with various business stakeholders, the Senior Manager would identify the opportunities for enabling business users with the right information, craft roadmap for rollout of functional areas, work with Data/BI Architecture, Development and Portal teams to deliver the solutions. Oversees the functional design of business layers, dashboards, data discovery solutions and reports; works with business users to craft training programs for tools and data; manages a team of business and data analysts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with various business stakeholders to identify their information needs
• Work with Data Architecture team to identify the supporting data requirements
• Engage Data /BI /Portal Development teams to craft the solutions
• Craft the roadmap for Business Intelligence self-service subject area rollout
• Lead the functional requirements gathering for Data Discovery using Qlikview to maximize the use of SiriusXM’s data assets
• Be the champion of self-service BI initiative
• Identify opportunities for use of unstructured data to help support business needs - word clouds/ sentiment analysis etc.
• Work with business to define KPIs and Metrics ; work with BI Portal team to design the “Business Insight” pages for the SiriusXM “InSXight” BI Portal.
• Create training plan and conduct training for data discovery and self-service BI subject areas
• Hire, train, and supervise business/data analysts and ensure that team meets the support the needs of our business stakeholders
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Manages a team of business and data analysts
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Business Analysis for Business Intelligence/Data projects
• 4 + years’ experience working with Qlikview and/or Cognos
Requirements and General Skills:
• Looking for someone with progressive career and would have some good tenure at each employer (spent at least 5 years)
• Business side experience / close business relationship to craft BI solutions.
• Ability to craft innovative and efficient solutions for the information needs of business
• Strong experience with conducting surveys, interviews and requirements workshops to collect and validate detailed business requirements.
• Ability to engage business users to use new and better solutions for Business Intelligence and Business Discovery
• Excellent understanding and experience with BI tools and BI Portals
• Experience building prototype BI solutions to refine business requirements
• Experience creating training materials for business users and conducting training sessions
• Strong data analysis skills
• Excellent communication and motivation skills, and ability to interact appropriately with senior level colleagues, vendors, and partners
