Job Description
As Senior Game Data Analyst at Tom Clancy's The Division you will be part of our Massive analytics team. Your main focus will be to help us better understand our players and to improve the experience of millions of players playing The Division. You will find and deliver reliable game and player insights to different stakeholders, to make sure they can enhance and optimize the game experience.
In this role, you will work closely with the Analytics team, as well as programmers, producers and game designers when dealing with data gathering and problem solving. You are the glue between the development teams and the analytics team, knowing where and when what is needed.
Responsibilities
• Proactively search for and understand the developers’ and gamers needs in terms of making reports, statistics and queries, about engagement, gameplay, acquisition, retention and monetization.
• Be a part of data analysis processes, from defining and tracking data to providing impactful analyses and reports in databases.
• Present your findings and KPI’s in a visually and communicatively understandable manner.
• Proactively search for optimization possibilities.
• Working with live operations leaders and Company to understand their business questions, and provide them with the answers they need to make well-informed, player-focused decisions with focus on ROI.
Qualifications
You have an excellent analytical and logical mind with an interest in game development, and are able to communicate and visualize your findings in terms anyone can understand and act upon. You have extensive experience on data analytics in games or other domains and you are able to leverage your experience to guide research on player habits and behaviors. You like games and game culture, and have knowledge of competitive online titles similar to Tom Clancy’s The Division™. You are creative and proactive, as you ask the right questions in order to develop and analyze the right material for game enhancement, and you can communicate the findings in a clear and understandable manner.
We expect that you have a relevant university degree, probably with focus on mathematics, statistics, economics or computer science. As a person you are service minded, thorough, team-spirited, result oriented and have the ability to conclude your data in actionable and understandable points.
Required skills and experience
• Experience from analytics project, preferably in gaming or client-facing digital business.
• Good SQL skills, to analyze player data.
• Good data visualization skills, to deliver visualizations and reports that are clear, unambiguous and impactful.
• Familiarity with visualization tools, such as Tableau.
• Passion for games.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet changing deadlines and priorities.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people at various levels of business and technical expertise.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
Bonus skills
• Familiarity with big data systems such as Hadoop.
• Experience with player segmentations or predictive modeling.
• Coding and scripting knowledge
• Business-sense and KPI-understanding
