Job Description
Company, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Senior Financial Accountant for its Accounting Department. This position will be based in San Francisco, CA and will report to the Accounting Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ownership of general ledger accounting functions: journal entry preparation, month-end close processes, financial reporting accuracy, GL account reconciliations, and analysis of key balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Drive the accounting team’s expense management initiatives – provide detailed flux and variance analysis of operating expense actuals on a monthly basis, ensure proper GL account and department coding of expenses and accruals, and review trends to identify accounts with opportunity for Company savings.
• Proactive coordination with internal business partners, including but not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Finance (FP&A), and IT/Business Intelligence - communicate guidance for proper accounting principles/objectives and take initiative for improvement of current accounting processes.
• Accurate and detailed management of key accounts and schedules with timely records and proper source documentation (i.e. cash, prepaids, accrued liabilities, fixed assets).
• Facilitate the renewal/creation of process documentation for existing accounting procedures and policies. Draft narratives and flowcharts to be included in trainings for relevant personnel.
• Conduct research on relevant accounting topics influencing our Company and industry.
• Work with external auditors to prepare deliverables in accordance with the financial statement audit.
• Collaborate with France HQ and other business units to reconcile intercompany entries within PeopleSoft and Oracle HFM reporting systems. Coordinate timely preparation of monthly reporting deliverables.
• Work with the Accounting Manager and/or Controller on other ad-hoc analyses or projects as requested.
Qualifications
• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA preferred or in progress).
• 4+ years combined experience in corporate accounting, or with a public accounting firm (Big Four strongly preferred).
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting concepts, US GAAP and IFRS, intercompany transactions, and experience with accounting research.
• Excellent command with Excel and manipulating large data sets is a must.
• Prior experience with business intelligence software and ERP systems.
• Strong quantitative analysis skillset, with the ability to read, analyze, interpret and explain complex financial data.
