Purpose and Scope:The Sr. Director Store Operations is accountable for exceeding customer expectations and achieving financial goals by overseeing all areas of operations within the stores organization. Areas of responsibility include: Developing Talent, executing Operational Excellence, upholding Brand Standards, Standard Operating Procedures, Store Communications, Store Openings / Renovations / Closings, Repair and Maintenance, Omni-channel strategy and execution, uniforms, Schedule Optimization, and Staffing models. This role requires a deep understanding of the brand and retail operations, skills in leadership, strategy, an ability to establish relationships with direct and inter-departmental partners, influencing, and communication skills, along with a drive for results.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop key business partnerships with members in corporate office to support business growth and initiatives (Human Resources, Operations, Finance, Merchandising, etc.).
• Develop, communicate and execute field business strategy and translate division and company strategies into clear objectives.
• Responsible for optimal productivity and driving profit in stores
• Create, monitor and achieve store sales and profit goals. Develop strategies to align budget costs for controllable expenses
• Participate in annual budget process; Influence and manage budgets on an annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly basis.
• Direct expense and maintenance budget for Stores/Operations.
• Develop stores growth strategy.
• Drive Regional Directors and manage Operations team to ensure strategic alignment and effectiveness
• Lead and drive ongoing Stores and Store Operations cross-divisional succession planning.
• Manage compensation strategy in conjunction with Human Resources, Finance, and Head of Stores
• Collaborate with Regional Directors to enhance engagement and motivation of field employees
• Partner with Learning & Development to ensure key learning strategies are in place to support Customer Experience, key performance tools and core program evolution
• Closely monitor and support service and selling standards & programs
• Understand, translate and integrate the needs of the consumer in an effective manner
• Elevate the customer needs while understanding the complexities of the business model
• Provide feedback and direction to corporate/field business partners on the effectiveness of merchandising and marketing strategies
• Identify market opportunities and implement merchandising strategies in conjunction with field and corporate business partners, includes strategies to address unique seasonality or geography
• Drive schedule optimization and WFM strategies for RLS to drive efficient use of payroll that supports sales growth
• Drive Buy Online / Ship from Store processes and Omni channel strategies
• Manage direct reports to deliver global uniform execution and strategy
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree a plus
• Experience: 12+ years of all retail stores and operations experience
• Experience managing all country multi-unit, high volume, highly complex business experience
• Significant corporate operations (5+ years) background, including exposure to operational process
• Understanding of retail finance practices and controls (from concept to practice).
• Leadership: Excellent interpersonal relationship skills at the executive level.
• Proven track record of success in leadership, group motivation, communication, employee selection, sales and manager development
• Demonstrated ability to establish meaningful, prosperous, long-term relationships
• Strategic Skills: Ability to think strategically, conceptually and creatively, with an ability to formulate long-term goals while sustaining short-term tactical plans that are cost-effective, efficient and realistic
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to persuade and influence individual contributors, teams and leadership.
• Organization: Possess strong organizational and time management skills and effectively lead others to timely planned goals and deliverables
• Superb project management skills, from initial idea through execution.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a system or a process to a store line and corporate audience.
• Critical thinking skills with an ability to make decisions for the business
Demonstrated ability to be resourceful, creative and time sensitive when faced with multiple demands.
• Adapts easily to changing situations and demonstrates flexibility in juggling priorities.
