Overview
Company is a consumer-driven innovation company with a mission to individualize sleep experiences. In order to deliver on our customer promise, we will be expanding on our Supply Chain team. Company is currently seeking a Sr. Director/Director, Quality Management Systems. This position will be responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of the Overall Quality Management System to drive industry leading performance and customer satisfaction. This position will directly lead the manufacturing plant Quality teams in driving improvements and moving the Quality Management System (QMS) to ISO-like standards.
Responsibilities
• Lead the consolidation, gap analysis, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to drive industry leading performance and customer satisfaction.
• Develops a strategic plan to implement key AOP initiatives to improve the product quality and reliability of our components. Responsible for leading the execution of the plan and reporting at all levels.
• Manages to functional area budget and assume fiscal responsibility for Quality requests.
• Applies principles of quality assurance to product, process and quality strategic planning. Is responsible for working cross functionally for ongoing validation and improvement.
• Develops a high performing team and drives personal development; creates strong morale in the Quality department to motivate them to be committed to the overall success and mission of the organization.
• Develops and leverages the team to document procedures and action plans to define new systems and continually improve existing systems.
• Directs and facilitates investigation and resolution of quality incidents, and process deviations.
• Analyzes and reports on product and process quality trends and quality system integrity against internal and external standards and regulations.
• Assures internal manufacturing processes are developed to achieve product performance specifications. Responsible for verifying that control plans are in place to routinely assure objectives are met and coordinates the efforts of the team to implement a Quality System.
• Conducts internal and external audits of Supply Chain Operations to assess and verify quality and regulatory objectives are met.
• Works strategically cross functionally in formulating and establishing company policies, procedures, objectives and goals regarding Quality Assurance.
• Partners with functional leaders to ensure awareness and understanding of the Quality Management System.
• Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum 6 years quality leadership, 10-15 years total quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with a new factory startup in an assembly operation is required.
• Successful quality leadership in a lean system environment.
• Experienced with new product commercialization systems.
• Must have demonstrated experience in developing and building a world class quality organization.
• BS Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or BS Applied Statistics required.
• MBA, MS Applied Statistics or related preferred.
• Outstanding knowledge of QA standards and practices.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability and strong knowledge of training techniques.
• Successful leadership of cross-functional teams
• Experience in 6-Sigma, DMAIC skills, or other formalized problem-solving techniques.
• Experienced in Lean Manufacturing concepts.
• Project Management Skills
• Travel as required to support business needs (20-30%)
