Job Description:
Build sustainable competitive advantage by developing world class operations teams at multiple plants within one or two business units. Ensure each plant team is driving towards zero injuries, zero defects, and zero waste through strong operating discipline, innovation, and employee engagement. Work with Business Unit leadership to ensure that capabilities and go to market plans are aligned and with leaders in R&D, Supply Chain, and Procurement to achieve least delivered cost/highest value. Ensure that all internal and external standards are met or exceeded. Support Company-wide change activities. Build leadership and functional skills across the organization as an active coach.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Ensure plants are fully compliant with internal and external standards. Demonstrated through audit results, severity and frequency of incidents, etc.
• Improve plant performance across all objectives (safety, food safety, quality, service, cost, continuous improvement, maintenance reliability) as demonstrated through key metrics.
• Build a culture of continuous improvement across all objectives by focusing on standards, processes, and behaviors. Demonstrated by implementation of and compliance to work processes (use of tools, leadership skills, and engagement leading to faster and more complete adoption).
• Drive BU performance by working cross functionally to develop and execute profit building and strategic projects. Demonstrated by BU profit, project execution.
• Drive superior plant performance and build the culture by gaining an in depth understanding of plant processes and behaviors through on-site visits and providing real time coaching and guidance. Apply/teach both functional and leadership skills.
• Monitor plant compliance and performance. Work with EHS, FSQ, Finance, Supply Chain, etc. to regularly review controls, incidents, and corrective actions and to proactively address and permanently resolve issues. Ensure processes are in place to manage issues at the plant level.
• Build the skill set within the organization by assessing and developing talent, setting and holding people to clear and high expectations, developing and executing succession plans.
• Support BU through the analysis, development and execution of initiatives including product strategies, capital plans, staffing plans, etc. Manage risk at all phases and achieve expected results within budget and on schedule
• Support Company-wide initiatives through special projects, best practice sharing, participation on Safety and Food Safety leadership teams, etc.
• Support Division co-packing sites that align with assigned facility manufacturing processes.
Skills, Experience and Education:
• Problem-solving, analytical, and trouble-shooting skills required to resolve manufacturing, procurement and logistics issues
• Leadership skills to drive change and build engagement
• Conceptual thinking skills to build a vision
• Demonstrated leadership capability

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Required – Type:
Operations Management
Minimum Experience Preferred (Number of years and type):
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Plant Manager and in a variety of operating conditions (e.g. turn-around, continuous improvement, network consolidation, plant start-up, etc.). Minimum of 5-10 years progressive experience in aseptic/ESL, retort, hot fill and cold fill processing. Experience leading cultural change.
Travel Requirements:
Regular over-night travel to plant locations; several hours per week on the plant floor and supporting areas.
