Senior Director e-Commerce, Consumer Beauty North America

Core Description:
The Senior Director e-Commerce has end-to-end ownership for all e-commerce KPI`s and drivers of Company`s Beauty business in North America, which spans both e-retailers and (future) direct-to-consumer channels. The Senior Director e-Commerce is responsible for defining the local e-commerce strategies and plans, building on a deep understanding of the target consumer on-line, the different e-tail partners` strengths and opportunity areas, as well as the business unit`s overall priorities. The individual leads a multi-functional team organized around the key channel needs of e-commerce, which includes the Account teams for Pure Play e-retailers, the (digital) Account managers for Brick & Click, e-Commerce Trade Marketing, Company website Marketing and Media, as well as Operational Excellence (i.e. supply chain, finance).
Key Responsibilities:
• Ownership and delivery of all local e-commerce KPI`s and drivers.
• Define the local e-retailer / channel strategies.
• Manage and direct the e-Commerce multi-functional team (`Power of One`).
• Own the local e-commerce master plan that will deliver on the goals for the year.
• Ensure strong Joint Business Plans are in place with all e-retailers.
• Drive towards on-line category captaincy with leading e-retailers in priority categories.
• Own Company website trade spend and media budgets, ensuring optimal ROI of investments.
• Align CB Division on goals, strategies, plans for annual North America e-com planning.
• Articulate the key needs of e-commerce back to the broader business unit organization
• Serve as the primary liaison between NA e-Commerce and global divisional leadership.
• Own local e-retailer innovations that will accelerate our business growth on-line.
• Own local reporting of e-commerce results and KPI`s.
Application Pre-Requisites:
• 4 year degree; advanced degree a plus
• 5+ years prior e-commerce experience with proven results to successfully grow businesses on-line.
• Affinity with Beauty. Prior beauty category experience is a plus, but not a pre-requisite.
Special skills required:
• Open and accessible Leadership style, with the ability to consistently achieve positive results
• Ability to select and enroll team members and delegate responsibilities to develop and execute customer plans.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the e-commerce landscape and KPI`s, digital marketing, e-retail- and brand strategies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems successfully
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen to understand, and to translate the company/brand strategy to e-retailers and enroll them in support of strategies
• Strong negotiating skills with the ability to influence up one or more levels and at top to top levels across Company and the customer organization
• Ability to effectively resolve competing priorities for team and customer, or for the team and other functions
• Ability to work effectively within a fast paced, complex matrix and changing environment
• Ability to develop reporting staff to full potentials and to build leaders for the future
• Ability to create and transfer a selling strategy to address all market customers and channels with a long term horizon of the future state of the business
