Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for oversight of schedules, processes and communication plans.
• Provide assessment solutions and knowledgeable of item/stimulus and test development processes.
• Construct test designs, item and test specifications, and program design for all assessments especially NextGen digital assessments.
• Coordinate and manage project design and implementation, item and test development, quality control, and staff supervision.
• Demonstrate knowledge of psychometric principles and collaborate with psychometricians on test development and delivery.
• Provide leadership to item development teams throughout the entire item development process, scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting multiple tasks.
• Development and review of Science test items, including performance based tasks, for large-scale assessments.
• Provide training and feedback to item writers based on established standards, cognitive complexity, and best practices for item development.
• Work closely with Test Development Managers, other Content Developers, Psychometricians, and across group users of assessment content.
• Work as a member of a team to develop, review, and revise assessment materials.
• Interpret standards to create both test blueprints and item development plans.
• Develop test and item specification documents.
• Facilitate client meetings.
• Participate in test construction activities.
• Some travel is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the science disciplines such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth or Space Science, Education, or equivalent education and experience required. Master’s degree desired.
• At least five (5) years experience in Science education required.
• At least three (3) years experience in large-scale educational measurement, especially item development.
• Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work closely with clients.
• Must have excellent planning, organizational, and problem solving skills to coordinate multiple activities and to adapt to unexpected requests
• Excellent project planning and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate a variety of different projects and individuals and to adapt to unforeseen and unexpected requests or changes in priorities, are required.
• Must be able to provide solutions to a variety of audiences.
• Professional experience managing cross-functional teams preferred.
• Familiarity with Excel, Adobe, Word, and the technology skills and confidence necessary to work with unfamiliar programs.
• General knowledge of test development including, processing, scoring, and reporting of large-scale assessments.
