POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant performs professional level accounting work in the generation, analysis, and maintenance of fiscal records related to LA Live, JW Marriott/Ritz Carlton, Regal Cinemas, and other Company-owned real estate entities. The position requires considerable knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting functions in order to work independently to complete tasks.
The Senior Accountant will work directly with the Accounting Manager and Senior Accounting Manager, and be responsible for specific aspects of the day-to-day accounting for LA Live, The JW Marriott/Ritz Carlton Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott/Residence Inn, and Regal Cinemas, and assist the Accounting Manager, Senior Accounting Manager, and Senior VP of Finance with budgeting and financial reporting for these entities. Among other responsibilities this person is responsible for ensuring compliance with Company accounting policies and procedures, and assisting with activities associated with the annual financial audits.
This individual may be asked to perform ad-hoc analyses and create spreadsheets and reports for management as necessary. These responsibilities and tasks will be coordinated with and supervised by the Accounting Manager, LA Live.

• Perform general ledger and month-end close accounting duties.
• Work with existing finance staff to train and provide JD Edwards and GL guidance.
• Assist with the creation and preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts.
• Assist with activities related to annual financial statement audits.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for banking partners.
• Complete and manage ad hoc projects as directed by the Senior VP, Senior Accounting Manager, and/or Accounting Manager, including the delegation to and supervision of staff accountants.
• Prepare various reports and analyses for management.
• Prepare and input journal entries and determine appropriate accruals to be made monthly.
• Create support schedules for monthly financial packages, and update as determined to be necessary based on ongoing trends and actual data.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, and Education):
1. A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year)
Area of Study: Accounting or Finance
2. Years of related work experience: 4- 6 years
3. Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
4. Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system/financial application.
5. Considerable knowledge with basic accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, debits, credits, etc.) and accounting functions.
6. Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
7. Ability to accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines.
8. Must have excellent organizational skills.
9. Proficient with Excel, Word and Email applications.
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable):
1. CPA preferred. Progress toward obtaining CPA will also be considered.
2. Familiarity with real estate and hotel operations.
3. Experience with JD Edwards or other large ERP system such as Oracle or SAP.
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.
• Input standard journal entries, reclassifications and accruals to general ledger.
• Prepare various account reconciliations and reports.
• Provide suggestions to management and supervisor on ways to implement efficiencies with daily processing and
reporting activities.
• Assist in the formatting and creation of Insight reports for team members to reference
• Assist with general administrative tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned.
