Schedule Planner, African Channels, Company TV Networks

Overview:
Company Television (SPT) Networks operates branded entertainment channels around the world. The channels offer high quality film and television content from Company and third party distributors, as well as original content commissioned globally and locally.
Working under the guidance of and reporting to the Senior Manager, Company Television (SPT) Networks currently have an exciting opportunity for a Schedule Planner to join their London team on a 6 month fixed term basis.
Part of the emerging markets team this role will support SPT’s African channels – Sony and Sony Max. It will involve the planning and maintenance of astute programme schedules that are aligned with strategy and meet ratings targets, along with building of long-term forward schedule plans in accordance with strategic objectives for the African channels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the programme planning and scheduling across both South African linear channels
• Working directly in to the scheduling software, monthly schedules, and post-build tasks including Run Reports and monthly schedule reports.
• Working closely with the scheduling teams in producing schedules, listings and highlights information each month for the channels.
• Support the day-to-day schedule planning activities (e.g schedule replacements)
• Liaising with the Senior manager, On-Air Promotions team and Marketing teams to ensure support for key programming and initiatives across the schedules and defining the monthly promotional makelist.
• To keep up to date with the market place, competitors schedules and programming.
• Ensure consistent program and contract information for the channels is maintained.
• Keep all departments updated with the latest programming developments on the channels.
• Manage compliance information from the traffic team to keep schedulers up to date with TX versions for SAT or post watershed versioning.
• Work with Traffic and Listings to resolve any programming issues (e.g running orders)
• Request new programming to be created in vision and enter certifications and maintain license information
• Submit term sheet information in to the contracts system as required.
Requirements
Professional Experience
• Previous experience of working in programme scheduling across major international territories and must be familiar with a major scheduling system (ideally Vision)
• Experience in using TechEdge is desirable
• Knowledge of the South African market is preferred
• Experience in working with US content and a familiarity with studio produced series
Skill and abilities
• Highly organized, working under pressure
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Experience of using scheduling software (preferably Vision)
• A strong team player who thrives under the pressure of meeting tight deadlines
• Strong problem solving skills, together with the ability to be flexible, adaptable and resourceful
• Ability to work independently and to use own initiative in all situations
• Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
