Responsibilities
The Sales Planner is primarily responsible for the development of strategic sales proposals that meet both the advertiser and network’s needs.
Responsibilities:
Proposal Creation:
• Liaison with Olympic Channel partners (USOC and IOC) to ensure that all contractual obligations are met
• Collaborate with the Strategic Planning management on analysis of Olympic Channel branded programming on NBC and NBCSN
• Coordinate with CFS group to establish credit clearance process and non-media billing procedures when applicable
• Lead in the creation of proposals for incoming RFPs by creating media plans to meet advertiser and category objectives
• Address client needs while highlighting the value and capabilities of
Olympic Channel
• Build media plans and schedule units based on inventory avails
• Prepare and revise Upfront and Scatter sales plans that maximize the use of inventory while fulfilling agency/client requirements
• Collaborate and brainstorm with the team in the creation of proactive and strategic proposals
• Ensure media plans include accurate pricing and utilize approved products and available inventory and adhere to defined business processes to ensure optimal program performance
• Complete additional projects as directed by Strategic Planning and Ad Sales Finance Management
• Assist in the coordination of sales marketing materials
Proposal Maintenance:
• Work closely with Sales, Strategic Planning, and Commercial Ops to manage all preemptions and programming changes - recommend schedules according to availability, generate flow charts to reflect all changes, cancellation option and expansion options
• Work closely with Inventory Managers to coordinate plan approvals
Client Service:
• Develop strong understanding of our products and solutions for advertisers
• Assist in the creation of effective go to market tools for the sales team
• Establish relationships with agency and advertiser partners
• Respond to Sales requests about inventory, ad products, creative specifications, and research
• Liaise with Sales, Strategic Planning, Ad Sales Finance, Commercial Ops, and Marketing to ensure sold schedules run
Qualifications/Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree
• 12 to 18 months related experience in media sales or buying
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research
• Strong knowledge of media math and audience metrics
