Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and effectively soliciting new sales prospects and former clients for the purpose of selling of events, tickets, teambuilding activities and meetings to achieve business and financial objectives for “Company Orlando” through sales volume and penetration of targeted market segments.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develops, solicits and negotiates group events through direct sales calls, trade show attendance, special promotions, lead follow-up, mail and telemarketing to achieve objectives for sales volume and associated revenues; sets individual goals and develop strategies (within the intent of the overall sales and marketing plan); seeks out sources of new business; participates in associations, committees and community events to develop effective contacts; follows-up on all sales leads received; inputs booking information in the Delphi Booking System.
• Personally responsible for all aspects of sales of their region.
• Manages development of Sales Representatives who assist sales managers in all aspects of the sales process. Ensures that they are trained and supporting the sales managers to their fullest potential.
• Manages the coordinators who support the sales managers to ensure that all administrative tasks and projects are completed and correct.
• Assists with managing projects, hosted events, trade shows and programs as needed by Senior Manager of Event Sales
Qualifications/Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business, Sales and Marketing, Communications or related field required.
EXPERIENCE: 2-3 Years in Event Sales. Knowledge of Meeting Planner management required w/ strong strategic emphasis. 5-7 years’ experience in developing sales programs within the Meeting and Events or Hotel industry preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
