Global Wealth Management Operations provides brokerage, investment and financial services to hundreds of thousands of individual investors. We apply our expertise in serving institutional clients to create new opportunities for people to achieve their personal financial goals. Company has one of the largest retail brokerage networks, with numerous worldwide representatives and retail locations. Our services are tailored to each client's investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial needs. Products include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments where appropriate, as well as banking, mortgages, insurance and annuities.
The Risk manager is expected to perform a broad range of Operational Risk management and coverage responsibilities including Operational Risk Incident (ORI) gathering and analysis, Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs), as well as independent control validation and monitoring.
A significant part of the role will be to liaise with the various Operations Managers across the Tax & Client Reporting Division, production managers within the specific product areas lines, as well as the broader Risk and Control Team.
Candidate will report to ED of TCRO Risk & Control.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Accountable for execution against several key control programs.
• Perform incident management functions inclusive of proper and timely incident reporting, root cause assessment, and design, execution, and on time resolution of remediation plans.
• Coordinate, organize and facilitate the feedback on risk trends occurring across the supported business unit.
• Conduct ongoing Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA) inclusive of design & execution of risk mitigation plans.
• Understand operating activities within the department, aiding in the ability to identify weaknesses to processes that may not be in line with Operations Risk standards.
• Provide guidance and review desktop procedures/WSP for operations groups supported.
• Work with business partners to improve risk controls.
• Prepare for and coordinate internal and external operational audit inclusive of: risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, any issue follow up.
• Consult with internal groups such as Firm Operational Risk, Enterprise Operational Risk Control, Compliance, Legal, and other Operations teams on matters related to risk controls, self-assessments, incidents and infrastructure projects.
• Manage the design / implementation of new or enhanced controls to validate effectiveness and sustainability.
• Support monthly risk meeting preparation/presentation.
• Facilitate entitlement reviews (out of role review, in role review, SOD review, and ad-hoc entitlement reviews).
• Provide oversight and consultation of Business Continuity Planning.
Qualifications
• Candidate should have experience with operational risk. This includes, but is not limited to: operational incident management, risk reporting, business continuity (BCP), entitlement reviews, risk control self-assessment (RCSA), managing internal and external audit examinations, and written supervisory procedures.
• 5+ years of financial services experience in audit, compliance, operations risk management
• Bachelor's Degree
• Solid presentation skills
• Ability to communicate complex issues and proposals to senior management
• Ability to influence change across the organization
• Strong Leadership Skills
• Fluent computer skills in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
• Knowledge of SharePoint
