Rights and Permissions Administrator – Fixed Term Contract

The Editorial Rights team at Macmillan Education are looking for a Rights and Permissioons Adminstrator to support all of the activities in the Rights Department with a particular focus on ensuring that all legal paperwork is logged appropriately as to ensure quicker review of rights requests from the market.
Responsibilities
• Rights Checking (Assisting the Rights and Permissions team in tracking permissions and filing clearance paperwork in the appropriate systems and Ensure rights checks are kept up to date and amended as appropriate according to re-clearances provided by the Rights Assistant and Permissions Assistant
• Granting Permission/File/Braille Requests (Being the main point of initial contact for permissions or file requests queries at Mac Ed, Double-checking that the details in the agreements are correct, by dealing with the Legal and Senior Management departments and Coordinate the signing process and the passage of documents between the company and the second party)
• Templates (Working with Rights Manager and Legal Counsel to add any new wordings to templates and ensuring old templates are removed / updated and new ones made available to the business)
• Maintenance of Rights payment scales
• Supporting of the archiving process
Experience, skills and qualifications
Essential
• Educated to degree level
• Knowledge and experience of publishing processes
• Knowledge and experience of administering/working with legal documentation
• Highly organised and methodical with an eye for detail
• Computer literate with familiarity with databases
• Publishing background
• Experience of working within environment run according to highly structured procedures
