Responsibilities
Develop, compile and circulate information about international soccer on Telemundo, Universo, NBC Sports and NBCSN programming schedule, including but not limited to FIFA, CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers, Liga MX and Premier League. The position could also require work on other NBC Sports Group / Telemundo sports properties as assigned, including but not limited to the Olympics and horse racing.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of on-air content
Work with producers and on-air talent to develop story ideas, gather story-related research, and fact check scripts (both pre-produced and live broadcast)
Prepare on-air talent prior to shows, and provide accurate, on the spot information during broadcasts
Contribute to production and editorial meetings, create and write research and story memos for production and talent, and respond to specific research requests
Become an expert in the stories, athletes, rules, results, history and pertinent contextual information for international soccer coverage across NBC Sports Group
Contribute to research projects across NBC Sports Group properties, as required
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Additional Qualifications
Strong journalistic instincts
Strong command of both the English and Spanish languages
Candidates should be creative and independent thinkers and strong, efficient writers
Submission of writing samples required
